I was recently going to South America so decided to follow the travel recommendation and get this vaccine. I found out after the fact that these two things were never tested together -why would they as MS a North American and European "thing". Two hours after the shot I got something akin to Bell's Palsy, but it quit within 24 hours and everything went back to normal. I write this because I want to make sure that people consult their neurologist before getting even common vaccines. Again, everything was normal 24 hours later but it was very scary for that time.

My Neuro has advised me to not take any kind of vaccine......no flu shot, no Pneumonia vaccine, nothing. And I haven't but I'm not around a lot of people on a regular basis so I rarely get sick anyway.

My neuro advised me just the opposite Kelly. I get the flu vaccine yearly and I had the shingles vaccine last May, with no problems. He said if I was on dmd or getting steroids regularly he would advise against it.
