My doctor put me on D3, but I ended up suffering with severe side-effects (toxicity to it) so we dropped it down, then down again, then down again.... back to drinking my milk everyday. My body just does not like taking vitamins

I had my vitamin D checked and it was just a little low so I've been taking an OTC supplement. I have to laugh because my two sisters who don't have MS have super low vitamin D and have to take large supplements.

I took 10,000iu per day for a month or 2, swear ms felt more stabil, my level was 120. Liquid pill form i always take.

Doc told me organ failure can happen if level approaches 200 so i take 5000iu per day & stay in the 80's. Everybody absorbs more/less plus i'm tan almost all yr. Love the south.

I do 4000U a day but I work nights and don't see the sun all winter living in the northeast except when it's 60 degrees and sunny like it is right now!

I just had blood work done for my thyroid and asked if they would check my Vitamin D levels, too. I haven't gotten the results back yet but when I do I'll post them here!

Thought you guys might want to see this: http://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.co...get-new-study/ if you haven't already.

My level was about 30, and I got it up to 77 by taking 10,000 IU a day for about 8 months. I don't think that article I linked to said so, but I've read elsewhere that you want to get your level up to something close to 100 but not over. And anything under 30 is too low.

Where's mrsD? I'd have thought that she'd be all over this thread--she's all about the D!
