I am not yet diagnosed. I have a strange numbness that isn't tingly but is more like novocaine deadness. BUT...I can still feel my skin and still use the limbs...it's more of the sensation of deadness. It has been in my left leg for several days now most of the day, but it comes and goes in both arms for an hour here or there and then disappears. It is so strange!! Does this even sound like MS or is there something else you can think of that I should look into? I have had a clear brain MRI but still awaiting an ordered c-spine and lumbar mri. MG has been ruled out, Vitamin D is only slightly low and B-12 is actually high (over 1200).
Thanks for your thoughts. |

yeah, I can relate to the numbness. I'm like that pretty much all the time, except that I can still walk...with a walker (hey, in PT today, I took 15 steps with a cane, without a walker! yay!). The numbness has kind of conspired with the drop foot to screw up my proprioception and balance. I use the walker because I really don't like tripping and falling down.
Just to warn you, as much as numbness feels as horrible as it does, doctors consider it to be a benign symptom, which it kind of is. Even tho it's so distracting, and feels like you're being tortured to distraction. So, don't be surprised if when you complain about being numb, they kind of dismiss the symptom somewhat. I think doctors just can't relate, and a lot don't have the greatest bedside manner to try to reassure us about the numb symptoms.
