Hats often make me feel the heat more. I have begun carrying a cane with me everywhere, we all know we never know what to expect when MS and the heat clash. It is in the mid to high 90's on a daily basis without the heat index here. Everyone please take care of yourself in this heat.

It's oppressively hot here in GA. I haven't been outside for any length of time in a month. It just wears me out.

I have a Neuro appt towards the end of the month and I'm already dreading it.

We haven't had any measurable rain in so long I've forgotten when the last time it rained was. We need rain so badly....the trees and grass are getting crunchy!

I'm nervous for the 4th of July fireworks....especially the ones people get to set off in their driveway or yard. Prime conditions for a fast fire!

Summer can be hard on people with disabilities, particularly MS disabilities. So far the summer here has been cool except for a few unspeakably hot days with temps around 100'. There may be more of those days as the summer goes on but for now I'm enjoying days in the 70s and wish I could send them to everyone who is suffering.

I dread the neighborhood fireworks every year. There are houses all around the building I live in and some of the residents in those houses just LOVE their fireworks. Some are so loud that they sound as if they're right under my windows.

Having diminished hearing helps a little but not much. I still feel the jarring impact of the louder explosions and definitely hear them even without the hearing aids.

I almost jump out of my skin with any loud sudden noise.

Cats I've had have gone into hiding at this season, and around here it is a season, not just a day. The fireworks can go on for weeks.

Public fireworks displays can be lovely, and I've been to some of them. They're well regulated, usually away from pets, and everyone hearing the noise is probably there voluntarily. Nobody will get hurt.

But every year there are news stories about somebody who is badly injured by fireworks.

@Kitty, I wish I could send you some of our rain...Season thunderstorms and downpours pretty much every afternoon and evening...That is part of the beauty of living in southeast GA, the weather changes quickly and often but it does stay hot and humid.

@agate, I hope your temperatures stay milder for you. I am very sensitive to the concussion from the fireworks, I can completely relate. I wear my earplugs, but I will still be left in bed on Tuesday morning with my nerves zapping and jerking from head to toe.
