For the past several months my sleep has really gone downhill. I just dream, dream and dream some more. And they aren't always pleasant dreams. A lot of them are about my old job as a nurse and terrible things happening. Or I dream making up short stories for my grandaughter. I actually woke up one night and wrote it. So I was wondering if a sleep study might show something. My Mom suggested I have my pharmacy do an evaluation of all my medicine before I do something as drastic as a sleep study. She hated hers.

I had to do a sleep study after a siezure several years ago. It was no fun, uncomfortable all wired up and so hard to sleep in a strange place. I would run it by your neuro. Having your meds checked out couldn't hurt.
I tend to have elaborate dreams taking me back to my past when I have a fever and/or under stress. I wish I could be more help, but a sleep study seems a tad extreme to me. I wish you calm quiet sleep. ![]()

POO!, had 3 done, all showed upper airway obstruction, snore like an animal, and wake up choking. No apnea.
I refused when my Neuro wanted to do another, what a joke. I asked him to refer to the other two he sent me for, the results will be the same. ![]() If you've never had one done, DO IT! Sleeping, breathing is critical to good health. However, repeats just show the same thing. Besides, I hate the head goop, washing it out is so troublesome. ![]()

I had Sams pharmacy review all my meds and any adverse reations and interactions that they might have. I took this to my PCP yesterday. I didn't know whether to give it to him or my neuro but my PCP is so much more approachable. So after he reviewed it he said that the drug that was causing the most interactions was my Ritalin!!!!!

doydie,
If your dreams don't stop, make mental notes about them when you wake up. You could be the next Stephen King. Some of his stories are derived from his dreams. I have some pretty screwy dreams too. The one that most often occurs is that I am pushing my rollator all over malls, up mountains, etc. and am lost. Since I have no quarter, I can't call home to have my husband come get me. He gave me some change so I would stop thinking about not being able to get ahold of him. gmi |
