Default ? about bladder infection Beware, may be gross

As far as I can remember I have had only one bladder infection in my life and that one was a doozy. So I have been having light sx since last Thursday. But they would always go away during the day. So today I called the doc and got an order for a urinalysis and culture. My urine looked like peach nectar! This eveing I am finally running a low grade temp. Do I take my Avonex while I am having a temp?

Oh, I also took the list of sx and drug interactions that I had Sams pharmacy do for me due to my extreme dreams before I ask for a sleep study. This week alone I have set fire to the pharmacy my husband works at, the surrounding 4 blocks around the hospital I warked at are on fire, my youngest daughter completely destroyed my older daughters wedding cake by sticking her hands in it and eating it before the wedding. Between my dreams and my bladder infection, I am not sleeping!

I don't know for sure, but it would make sense that you would continue with Avonex. I've never heard otherwise from anyone.

A bladder infection is what set off my last really BIG attack (the paralysis one) and is not something to play around with IMHO. I hope you have antibiotics, and are aggressively treating your low grade fever consistently. That means getting up in the night to take fever reducers to keep it in check!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm so sorry, Doydie. A bladder infection is a very serous matter for PwMS.

Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest, take your meds and, yes, do keep that fever under control.

I'm so sorry you are feeling so crummy. Please follow doctor orders and get yourself well, pronto.

I always had a l/g fever w/Avonex and Rebif. Fevers really give me horrible dreams that always are part real and part wacked. Try and keep yours in check, then when you are well, see if the dreams continue. Your fever may have been brewing a while before being noticed.

Keep us posted.

Well my urinalysis came back and no suprises, I have a bladder infection. I started the Septra right there in the pharmacy and will take one tonight even though it isn't 12 hours. I have no fever but I am in a lot more pain tonight. I am even going to take a Lortab tonight to help me go to sleep.

I guess the one thing that hurts me the most about this infection is that I had plans to take my Mom to Louisville Thursday. My sister in law would pick her up there and they would then go onto her house in Cincinatti. We would reverse the trip on Sunday. I don't think there is any way I can drive a little over 4 hours twice this week. My Mom doesn't travel much due to degenerative arthritis and this would probably have been her last trip. My brother had arranged to get time off on Friday and Saturday to spend time with her. I now will have to tell her I can't drive her. I think this hurts more than my bladder. I can't take a Lortab for this kind of pain.
