Thanks for taking us along on your trip Cindy!! The pics are great......"BORN FREE -- AS FREE AS THE WIND BLOWS" dah, dah, de, etc........... It's a good reminder how vast out country is and so different in other areas! Looks like you're having a blast!
Take care, no marshmallows for the bears, and get plenty of rest. Drive safely!!!!! |
Every time you, Cindy and Kay talk about fly fishing, I am reminded of the movie, directed be Robt Redford, "A River Runs Through It" and the Naration below.......
Older Norman McClean: [narrating in "A River Runs Through It] Like many fly fishermen in western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existance fades to a being of my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs......... I am haunted by waters. |
Cindy??? Oh, CIndy? Where are you???
*looking under table~ Nope, not there. Checking sofa cushions!:icon_question::Bawling: Where is she??? I need a bedtime story!! :Sinking: |
Mornin' all, I'm trying to get the remainder of my one cup of coffee to recycle and then I'm off to the river. I sure hope it doesn't rain, I can handle the 50° day, but the rain makes it seem ten times colder!
It rained heavily all day yesterday, and that could ruin the fishing. Hopefully, my guide will have some secret tips for me. This is my last shot at MT trout and I really want to land a couple. I'm pretty excited to be on the river because this is also whereabouts Lewis & Clark rejoined the river after a winter of portaging the mountains. I hope I can do this! *throwing bright-colored plastic at DM* DM! I do NOT wear swimmies! Dangit! |
Cindy
Fingers crossed for the fishing today, no rain and lots of fishies. How cool to fish at a historic site. Take care. |
Well, I had a regular blast today! It was perfect weather, cool and sunny and no wind! I couldn't believe it. Just as I pulled into my hotel, a few drops of rain fell here and there.
I caught a bunch of fish and it was just beautiful on the river all day. I found out that my hand cannot keep a steady rod with a decent fish on, so I did loose the biggest ones, but it was fun fighting them while I had them on. My guide, Pat was fantastic and helped me so much, it was just great. Here, one of our spots, my little brown trout, and some eagles, 2 golden, one bald (on right): |
Awesome pics Cindy!!! Looks like the "fish are jumping and the eagles are high!" Well, I know there wasn't any cotton so had to improvise!! So glad you're having a blast and your body is holding up!!!!
On to the next stop................. |

It's all true! I'm here at home in my jammies and I haven't even driven my car in months! I have no friends and no desire to see the country. I'm deathly afraid of strangers and expressways. I'm going to refold my towels again, it's therapeutic.:Bang-Head: |

I really am, thanks. It's so cool to go through these mountains. I spent the night in Wenatchee, which is a pretty big town in a valley and it came out of miles and miles of nowhere! I expected another one-gas station town and came into a huge, neon-lit jungle! Talk about sensory overload!
Some pics from yesterday: |
I goofed, sorry. I went to the Grand Coulee dam and through the lower Cascades yesterday. It was beautiful!
|
It was a pretty drive all the way.
|
A lot of your photos will *ake wonderful desk tops :p - Thanks:D

She's forgotten us here. She doesn't love us anymore. She's too busy posting her travelogue elsewhere. We've lost her....so sad....:(
|
Sorry I've been slacking off, all, I spent three days being murdered by friends high in the PacNW. This friend is another MSr I met online and became a great one by phone. We had been waiting over a year to do this and it was super hard to part last night. Even CBK was weeping.
No, Sal, not quite homeward bound just yet. Today is the dreaded day as I go south of Seattle, and once there, I will balance my checkbook. The way home could be long or quite abbreviated once I get that bottom line filled in. I've been avoiding it like the plague! I do have business in northern CO, so that's a must (my best bud of my entire life has been waiting for me).:) Here we are at our farewell dinner in a little, surprisingly good, Mexican joint. |
I am so glad you are having such a wonderful trip Cindy. It is so exciting to live vicariously through you.
I hope the next leg of your trip is as exciting as the past have been. Keep us posted on your next stop! |
Thar she is or should I say errr- was :D -- Fun photo - thanks;) I too is happy for the fun trip you are ha*ing -- I is getting a little warn out - need rest - need dough - need a pool boy to do *y bidding LOL! --- OK so what are we doing today? Are we in Seattle yet?
|
Well, ya'll, I spent a couple of days in some of the most magnificent places I've ever been. I went well into the North Cascades NP and was astonished over and over again. It might just be the place where I choose to die (at my natural time).
Then, I went out to the Olympic penninsula of WA and was so deep in the nowhere, I felt like I might never leave. Absolutely breathtaking. From the Hoh Rainforest, I came out to large light and realized that I was right on the Pacific coast, what a sight. I'm taking today off, I'm not up to much so I'll rest a bit. |
OMG! - I don't know how you have the strength to do all you do Cindy  -they'd have to bring me home on a guerney -- I aM so happy that you are ha*ing a good tiMe and are able to do it -- More thanI would be able to do - that's for sure -- You are so KOOL:cool: --- Keep on tru*king honey :D

Oh yeah....stay out of my Olympics...their mine I tell ya, all mine! |
LOL, Sal, I don't really do that much! I just look at stuff, honest. I wish I could do all the things my mind imagines me doing, but it would be years before I got home.
Well, Tappy and I had a great meeting, and she brought me a lifetime supply of Fritos! No kidding, I'm set for life! It was so much fun to finally meet her, we've had the message boards for a long time, and now we'll always have Starbuck's and Applebees. She generously treated me to a night on the town (in the Centralia, WA style) and it was so nice of her. She's almost as scary in person, but more together than she pretends to be online. She kept me laughing, and we talked about all kinds of things. It was a great experience, Tatty, thank you! So, today, I feel like taking a ride. I'm dangerously close to the Pendleton store and woke this morning to the sounds of it whispering in my ear. Ruh roh. Had a good couple days of rest here and I'm ready to put some more miles behind me. I hate to leave these parts, it has been a whirlwind of wonders. Beeeeeeautiful. The Olympics ain't yers *duct taping Tappy to a tree*, but feel free to bond with nature a little more! bwah hah hah haahaaaaaaa!!!!! |
Thanks Cindy for reporting in and for all the great photos you've shared :) I saw the photos you posted at MSW - WOW!! Keep us posted on anything new OK? --

Oh, brother, Sal! The days have been overwhelming lately! A lot of driving and unexpected changes of plan. Double duty on pics is more than I can handle, I didn't think about that when I started this trip.:o
FYI all, I am posting more details on another message board, if you'd like the link, feel free to PM me. I've come a long way through the PacNW, redwoods, a stretch of the original Pony Express route, the Great Salt Desert of UT, and am now in Moab where I'll visit Canyonlands NP and Arches NP. tomorrow it's on to CO and a visit to Dinasaur, CO national monument. I'm slowing down quite a bit and having a little trouble retaining the information I've gathered along the way. Thank goodness for the publications provided by the different locations, I will read and reread them forever. Here are some cool things I've seen: |
Ooooooooooooo!! I love love love those photos--The last one looks like Ohio in the Fall- LOL! Thanks Cindy - I'll bet you are about warn out! -- I is warn out Copying and pasting letters :p ---
