Default Sleep study

It's scheduled for 7:30 tomorrow night. I have all my night time music downloaded on my son in laws I Pod and have an audio speaker for it. I also bought an electronic solitaire game so I can have my normal night time routine. Well, as normal as it can be with electrodes stuck all over your body.

Good Luck Doydie

It sounds like you have a good plan to your not so normal nighttime routine. Just want to wish you luck getting all the gunk out of your hair. Be sure and let us know what you find out too.

I am a person that goes to sleep around MN at least. Bedtime there is inforced at 10:30! Plus I am a side sleeper and they want you on your back so the respiration monitor can work. I think I got about 3 good hours, they said they want at least 2. Yeah, I'm still tired but OK. I won't get results for about 2 weeks. When my Mom had it several years ago they gave me some immediate results such as how many times during the night she stopped breathing and how low her oxygen level went.

Those were the results I got immediately too, but that was about 6 years ago. Fingers crossed it's no bit deal. I'm a side sleeper too, so sleeping on my back was difficult.

Sleeping on your back does bring on the apnea effects, if you've got it. I remember having to nap the next day for lack of restful sleep during the study. They recommended a cpap machine, but I never got it. Only in the spring an fall do I have trouble, mainly due to allergy symptoms.

Hoping it's nothing to worry about, and awaiting the results.

Well I got some preliminary results. I guess they do things differently than when my Mom had hers. They told me that I did have some sleep apnea during the exam. I guess what they do is have a scale and according to how many episodes of apnea you have they schedule you for a CPAP sleep study, get those reults and send all of it to the doctor who analyzes the test.

They said I had three times more episodes of apnea during deep sleep than I had during regular sleep. So I go in for a CPAP sleep study next Wednesday night. They show me all the differnet masks, help me choose which is the most comfortable, wear it for a couple of hours so I am used to it and then put me to bed. While I am asleep they take measurments and adjust the pressure while am sleeping.

Had my CPAP sleep study last ight. The masks sure are different! And for the better. The one I picked out is one of the kind that go right up into my nostrils. They said I had petite nostrils!!! I didn't know there was anything petite anout me. There were a couple of those kinds. This is the one that has a chin strap with it. I very easily moved around in bed. And I slept like a baby all night long!!!!!!!! I did take an extra Klonipen and my quilt. i don't know if it was one of those or the actual CPAP that helped me sleep. So they will compile all the info, call me for my preference of Home Health agencies and then get me set up.

Doydie
How wonderful to get a good nights sleep. My sister has a huge monstrosity of a mask, but sleeps very well. She has bad asthma and still smokes. Go figure.

I hope this is all it appears to be. Sweet Dreams

Tonight I use my CPAP for the first time. Well actually I tried to take a nap with it on but I was just to conscious of it on my face. I think I need the tiredness of bedtime to do it.
