Thumbs up

Hey Sally: Just got home a little while ago and read your post. As one mother to another I can feel your pain. There is really no words I can say to heal it. Just that I am here to listen and support you. Take care of yourself and remember we are all here, (YOUR ADOPTED FAMILY)

Needless to say the light hit and DD felt awful. She thought it would be too much trouble for me to come over and thought she was doing me a favor. ( she does have a few stairs that are hard for me and her DH has a bad back..)

Anyways, all is well and forgiven...she is bringing me all the fixens tomorrow.

Good Sal! Yes, most of the time, the innocents of the world need to step in and straighten things out! Thank God for children!

Thanks Taffy. I actually just deleted my post, but since you copied it, I will explain. Today I am not feeling very forgiving towards DD. She never did say she was sorry...just kinda made excuses and felt guilty. She should feel that and more!!

I have felt like a millstone around their neck in the past and have been aware of trying to be NOT so dependent on them. I do as much for myself as I am able. I do depend on their love and caring and actually wanting me with them as part of the Family, at times like this.

Shame on her and shame on me for letting it slide. My world has been rocked and I don't know what to do.

Hang on, Sal. I think those who are closest sting us most. Ever notice that? I'm sure that she meant no outward malice, but when it comes to family, I find that the absence of thoughtfulness can really burn. Family dynamics are the ultimate wonder of the world.

My annoying brother and his ultra-annoying son (9) finally just left and we are astounded at the quiet, for which, we are especially thankful this day. So, today is my thanksgiving day.

I love my brother and his family by way of the natural, biological link, but if I met him as a stranger, I'd probably run in the other direction!

Sally, I'm so sorry your DD was such a bone head. It seems family is the best and the worst thing in the world. I know as happy as I was to have my family around me for the holiday, I was so happy to get home to my quiet couch. So was my Dad.

Enjoy your leftovers today. BTW the Amish pies were yucky. Commercially made, more filling then fruit, and pretty tasteless. What a waste of $9-10 each. No, more!

I'm looking forward to leftovers as much as yesterday. I'm sure I won't want anymore tomorrow, so I better eat up today.

Well who said you weren't needed??? You sure said all the right, and so true, things here. I am going to hold on and just let the hurt feeling go. DD will make up for it in other ways. She has always had a hard time with accepting the fact that she has done something wrong and to say..... I'm sorry.

I always take everything to heart and wallow in it, but, thanks to your sage words, I shall not. Thanks..

Thanks for your thoughts, Beth and I know what you mean about....glad it's over. I always am to. .

My thoughts are, that even if you don't especially want to do something...you still want to be wanted and asked...KWIM?

Sheesh, sorry about the pies!! I've always found Krogers Homemade pies to be the best. I always get apple, pecan and pumpkin. I hope my DD got Apple ( my fav) or pecan...yummmm. I'm not crazy about pumpkin but it's traditional..

I'm glad you made it to your couch...Me Too!!

LOL, Yapper....They are always here for Christmas....for all the gifts..

I know...my Brother dying is what made this expecially hard this year and so hard to understand how she could do it. Cindy is so right....she was not thinking of me, only herself....thoughtlessness is how I shall perceive it.

Thanks..
