I am so glad to hear it wasn't your house. Been there, done that! No more carpet for me, try to keep everything off the floor that matters to me, etc. OTOH, sorry that your Dad got hit so hard. It cannot be easy at his age to have to see his home in a shambles, especially since he has all your Mom's stuff too. This may give him a new start on letting go of stuff, but even if it doesn't, he's lucky to have you to lean on. Bless you and your family and all your neighbors at this trying time.
