Hi Everyone

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I know I am a few hours late. I was away at my daughters for a couple of days. Just got home a little while ago.

Oh yeah...brain is melting.

Oh well....at least I got a Webkinz Chihuahua to play with while waiting for the GPS thingie to charge.

I got a GPS too..what kind did you get? I got a Magellan 3325. It's way cool. I used it this afternoon to go over to my friends house. It talks..and if you miss a turn, it says "recalculating route." I was hoping it would something like ... hey stupid you missed the turn! LOL!

I am a pilot...I would prefer it to say turn west or east, not left or right. I find that confusing! I have a left and an other left!

It's great tho! I am going to have fun with this! Sure beats mapquest all to pieces! Hard to read and drive at the same time!

We had a 'small' Christmas at our house today. We have everyone go to their spouses homes for Christmas and then here whenever we can agree on a date. So our Christmas is this Saturday. It will also be here at my house. Here in town we have my Mom who lives in a retirement home, my sister and her hubbie, myself and hubbie, my daughter and her hubbie and my sisters son and wife. So it is only logical for evertone to come here. We go to my sisters for Thanksgiving cause there aren't as many people and at my house for Christmas. We usually go to her house for the little meal on Christmas day cause there are even less people left in town.

But her husband had a colonoscopy last Friday just because he had never had one and he went into atrial fibrillation during the procedure and they couldn't get it to stop. So he is still in the hospital and Christmas was a lot different for us all. I have never had a Christams without her.

So we had ham and turkey sandwiches! My son in law kept asking where the mashed potatoes and gravy were!!! He is leaving for his second tour in Iraq on the 2nd so his family will be joining us for our Christmas dinner. I have never had 30 people in my house much less for dinner. My youngest daughter and my sisters sons wife have really picked up and taken over the cooking. They still ask us for advice but they let us know that they are in charge now. Both of thier husbands are ones who like to help in the kitchen, well at least they are at my house. So it's neat to see the four of them fixing dinner.

My niece is married to a blind man and he is usually freaked out by all the noise. But this year will be so special. Last year my youngest grandaughter was one month old but this year is so diferent. i wish I could figure out how to put a picture up here. She just brings such joy just to look at her and watch her happiness. She just laughs and babbles as she crawls across the floor. She wakes up laughing and doesn't stop until bedtime. So I will be very tired but happy .

Anyway ------ Merry Christmas

It's a TomTom XL-S. I havent used it to go anywhere yet, I did do a couple of demos of what it would be like to use it while driving. (it'll do a fast forward version of your trip to show you what the route is)

I had it "take" me to my boyfriend's house (I've never driven to his house myself before. I might try it sometime when the weather is good and I can get there and back before dark...bad night vision from the ON)

I also had it "take" me to the houses that I grew up in. Just because those were addresses I could remember.

I want to get a case or something to keep it in, because I get the dropsies (gravity is apparently stronger around me) and I dont want it to fall. I do have a window suction cup thingie for it, but my boyfriend's GPS falls off his window all the time, and I'm worried it'll do that in my car too. I'm going to see if I can get a clippie thingie (I'm so technical, arent I?) and hopefully can clip it to the dashboard on the air vents or something.

I also got a little tablet and stylus to use with my computers. (I've been doodling with it in the Paint program on my computer for hours)

One of my presents hasnt arrived yet. (Amazon backordered it) It's a Sony Reader (kinda like a PDA) to read books and other text-y type stuff. (I read fanfiction on the internet, I put stories into Word and upload them to my PDA sometimes. I'll be able to do the same with the Reader)

I also got a Webkinz chihuahua, and a knitting book. My sister gave me the book. I was surprised. She never gives me presents...and when she does, she never gives me COOL presents.

Finally, she's figured out something I'd like! (just learned to knit last year, been crocheting for over 30yrs tho)

Now I'm glad that I crocheted her that really nice shawl I made last week...and that I sent her kids some Webkinz (a chocolate lab and a black lab)

I think I'll go see what kinds of cool knitting stuff I can do with this book.

Default Free at last!

Well, happy unChristmas everyone. I just shoved the last three out the door and put on my jammies. It's leftovers tonight, heat & eat at will. No table fixins' tonight. It was 45° and sunny here and I had a houseful of people who kept me away from my glass house which hit 90° for a bit and would have tempered to a perfect 72° with the right window adjustments.

We had a nice time and laughed, ate, drank & be'd merry well into the wee hours. This morning, I took my niece for her Christmas gift, a little spa date. We had a lovely time.

No hope for a good book and some blender fun tomorrow, it's supposed to be cold and snowy.

Overall, it was a fine holiday and the tree is now put away, food is dwindling and balance will be restored by morning. I'm whipped, pooped, and just plain worn out.!

Christmas was....weird!

The flood here made it strange and yet so much to be thankful for.

Like, so busy with flood stuff that certain people received Mr. Potato head Transformer and pooping polar bears and a trip to mall (shutters) to buy clothes...well, on the bright side, no returns!

Like, so busy with flood stuff I forgot to get the rest of the holiday food, so we kind of had some weird things to eat with the ham! Opps! Oh well, no one starved! Just chocolate and pickled asparagus spears kinda don't sit well in ones stomach.

It's over and I am still alive!

There is no way I am staying up till midnight on New Year's. Been there and done that and it all looks the same. Just can't bounce back from staying up that late anymore. Oh ...that is so late!
