Hi Snoopy,

Grassman/Mike swore by it, and so does Montel, but it didn't work out that way for me. Like anything, everyone is different.

I used mj for appetite and sleeping, for the period 2003 - 2005, before I went on LDN. I would only take a couple of toots at night time, or it would make me terribly paranoid. Even then, it did nothing for my pain, and if anything, it may have increased my awareness to it.

Have you considered LDN? That was what finally took my pain away.

Cherie

Hey Snoops....I cannot address the weed for pain b/c I am allergic to it!

But I want to ask you about Klonopin. I take it every night. 1 mg. I don't have any problems with it, no side effects and it does help with the pain. And I DO have pain. I have also added Soma, as needed. I am not a pain med junkie and really haven't found any of them addicting...in fact, changing insurance companies right now I am out of Soma, Nov10 and Vicodin. Doing fine.

I hope you can find something that helps you. I know what you are going through. It's not fun!

Thanks, Cherie.

I remember reading Mike used it and I know Dave does although I'm not too sure Dave uses it for just the MS .

Actually, I had forgotten about LDN Maybe it's time to look into it more. All I know is something has to be done about the pain. Some days it's so bad I'm actually shaking.

When My neuro said we could try narcotics my natural reaction was negative - I come from a family that seems to have addictive tendencies.

I don't know, Cherie. Maybe I should ask my neuro about trying it rather than go the other direction.

Cheryl, I have Klonopin 1 mg and have tried using it for this perticular pain - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. In fact I took a klonopin about an hour and a half ago and so far it's not touching it.

I can't take it during the day. It puts me to sleep!

That's probably why I don't get hooked on meds. I am so med sensitive. 1/2 mg of that stuff puts me to sleep!

You should see me on Baclofen or Zanaflex...want some free entertainment?

Hi Leeann, Jim uses as you know. He said it's not so much the pain that he uses it for, but more so his shaking and clonus. Which in turn helps with the pain because he's not shaking anymore. It also helps with his appetite.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I have considered the same thing in fact Sandy and I were just discussing last night her mailing me magic brownies.....we decided that was a bit risky LOL.

But I feel your pain....really.....the spasms are what gets me,i've tried the ad's,narcotics, baclofen, neurontin which I still take, and zanaflex, I like Cheryl though get loooooopy I fall asleep within 30 min of taking it and then I can't sleep for a day afterward!

Hi Snoopy!

I take percocet 5/325 two or three pills per day. It is the only thing I've found to help my pain. I definitely understand your hesitation. I come from a long line of addicts on both sides of the family tree. I just make sure I don't take any more than what my neuro has prescribed.

I can't smoke weed because I could be going back to work within the next month, they drug test. I find it pretty funny that I can take narcotic pain meds and work doesn't have a problem with that LOL!

There's also that stigma that you MUST be a drug addict if you use percocet, vicodin etc. I just ignore that nonsense because we are just doing what we need to do to have a decent quality of life.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
