Hi LeeAnn,

I know how you feel. I had the same pain in my lower back and legs to the point that Rx'd meds were NOT helping.

I had my college aged son, at the time, talk to one of his friends and I bought 2 grams of MJ for $50. Kind of high I thought but the only frame of reference I have about MJ is when I was in Vice and bought a "lid", one sandwich bag full for $25.

Well, I tried it several times. Found out I couldn't roll a cig for my life, tried a personal water pipe. The results? I just about coughed up a lung. I mean it was terrible. It must have worked because I quickly forgot about my pain and was concentrating on trying NOT to cough up a lung.

To say the least, it didn't do a thing for me and I ended up giving the rest of the bag to my son. Yes, we have a very good and healthy relationship. I know he would smoke in college from time to time and does not at all now. He runs marathons and is very active in marshal arts. (Just in case any of you were wonder what kind of parent I was.)

I'm sorry you have to deal with pain in that area Would weed help? I really don't know. I know some find weed to be helpful for pain but others do not. I haven't had the chance to find out for myself...yet but hopefully soon.

Craig, you really don't need to cough up a lung, you already have enough medical issues

You didn't do it right.

Seriously, I don't think your a bad parent. Heck, when Jim was out we had to call our son and ask if his gf had any hookups. My son is 21 and I am a good parent too and no we didn't get any from them.

Snoopy, looks like you'll just have to try and see what it does for you. I wish you nothing but luck and being pain free.

yes, when I lived in California, where I had a legal Rx... I used it for leg spasms, and it helped.

but I wouldn't dare use it here, as the punishment is positively medieval, and the prison here is nothing short of barbaric.

Narcotics don't work all that well for nerve pain, LeeAnn, so your doc's intentions may be pure but his knowledge in this arena isn't, IMHO

LDN may help (it didn't do anything at all for me...but that's just me), and weed just mellows me out which CAN help with pain for some people (again, not for me, but that's just me. ). I like MJ. I always liked it. But why bother at this point if I'm not getting any relief from it? I long ago gave up getting high for any reason or no reason at all.....

I hope you can find something to help with your pain, Snoops! It is SO wearing.......

Something I rarely hear about when talking about using MJ for medical reasons is about how your own "perception" of using weed has alot to do with how it affects you. If you are heavy anti weed before, you are probably not going to have a good result. You know, the old silly guilt thing.

My daughter & SIL used to try to get me to use MJ for pain for a couple of years & I wouldn't because I'm an old recovered addict from way back. So, even though I believe MJ should be legal & have no qualms about anybody else using it, I didn't think it was for me. Too many negatives associated. But, I tried it eventually & it did relieve the pain. Unfortunately, it also made me feel like some old, stoned, loser & that depressed me. I don't need to be fighting depression anymore than I already do, so that was it for me.

I like Greta's idea. Biofeedback is really cool & helped me. Acupuncture does amazing things too but it's temporary. It's great if you can afford to go weekly.

For what it's worth, I don't think you'll know if it does or doesn't work until you've tried it. I never really worried about getting caught with, I figured I could use my sweet little ole lady thing to get out of trouble.

Hope you find something that helps & soon!

Very good point, Kay. Be careful, Snoopy. I heard of a US member on another MS forum who actually did 9 months when he got caught.

As well as having MS i have complex regional pain syndrome. i did get really desperate at one stage and tried weed and it did nothing for the pain- it really stimulated my appetite which i did not need! I went to a pain clinic and it certainly is not a quick ix solution but they assessed my pain and sorted out the best treatment- have you seen a pain specialist!
