Default I am now at the point of considering.....

Using weed for pain.

I have had Pelvic and pain at the tip of the clitoris for 5 months. I tried Cymbalta but could not handle the side affects went on to Lyrica and thought it was helping but with or without meds the pain can increase, decrease, be mild or severe or feel as if it's gone- I stopped Lyrica.

I use Baclofen and get minimal relief but I can only take it at night. Klonopin has helped the most but I really don't like to use it on a regular basis - I want a life and Klonopin doesn't always allow for that.

I saw my neuro today and other than going into narcotics, which I really don't want to at this time, there is nothing for me to try, except weed.

What I am dealing with is sensory with no other explaination and not many options med wise.

So, my questions it - has anyone tried weed to help with pain and did it work?

Hi Snoopy,

Grassman/Mike swore by it, and so does Montel, but it didn't work out that way for me. Like anything, everyone is different.

I used mj for appetite and sleeping, for the period 2003 - 2005, before I went on LDN. I would only take a couple of toots at night time, or it would make me terribly paranoid. Even then, it did nothing for my pain, and if anything, it may have increased my awareness to it.

Have you considered LDN? That was what finally took my pain away.

Cherie

Hey Snoops....I cannot address the weed for pain b/c I am allergic to it!

But I want to ask you about Klonopin. I take it every night. 1 mg. I don't have any problems with it, no side effects and it does help with the pain. And I DO have pain. I have also added Soma, as needed. I am not a pain med junkie and really haven't found any of them addicting...in fact, changing insurance companies right now I am out of Soma, Nov10 and Vicodin. Doing fine.

I hope you can find something that helps you. I know what you are going through. It's not fun!

Thanks, Cherie.

I remember reading Mike used it and I know Dave does although I'm not too sure Dave uses it for just the MS .

Actually, I had forgotten about LDN Maybe it's time to look into it more. All I know is something has to be done about the pain. Some days it's so bad I'm actually shaking.

When My neuro said we could try narcotics my natural reaction was negative - I come from a family that seems to have addictive tendencies.

I don't know, Cherie. Maybe I should ask my neuro about trying it rather than go the other direction.

I think it's worth a try, LeeAnn. Is MM legal in your State? If not, it might be rough getting it, but not impossible.

I'll be glad when the Feds make it legal. Anything else is stupidddddd Like any other Med, some can take it and some can't.

Good luck and let us know ho it goes..

Cheryl, I have Klonopin 1 mg and have tried using it for this perticular pain - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. In fact I took a klonopin about an hour and a half ago and so far it's not touching it.

If it works, LA, then try it! I know a lot of people have gotten good results from it...LDN...and some from weed!

I can't take it during the day. It puts me to sleep!
