hodunno, Jappy.:confused: It worked for me!

If you go to the main MS page and look way up there, just under your PrivateMessage and mood things, you'll see the new MS Social Chat Forum, and it's in there.

I am glad that Sage is doing ok, too! Those lil furbabies have a way of getting to us. I hated to leave my 2 at home today. Give her a treat for me.

Also glad Holly is doing better, FG. Bet she was glad to get those darn staples out... Give Holly a couple dzn treats, she's bigger...

Hey everyone!

Trying to catch up here, my sleep schedule is waaaay out of whack this week and it seems when I am home and not occupied in the minutiae of daily living, I am falling asleep. I am hoping it's because of the change in the light now that we have sun earlier and later each day, that's always affected me at this time of year!

Jappy!- So happy to hear that Sage came through the surgery and is home! The furbabies ARE our babies! I know I worry about mine whenever anything seems out of character for him.

Erin!- I am with you on the whole "reality show" thing. I don't know why, I simply cannot watch them. I find myself just flipping through channel after channel, searching for ANYTHING that will feed my mind and not my disgust at the exploitation and dignity shredding that goes on ( with the participants' cooperation!) I watch reruns and history/ documentaries all the time now!

As for the mod thing on your crochet board? Kudos to you for even being a mod, along with everyone else who takes on that job! It takes a special kind of person and I know I wouldn't be able to do it! Let that woman roll off your back like water and remember that you cannot please all of the people all of the time!

Beth!- You sound like you are being kept VERY busy! I went through my Dad's illness with him, running back and forth between Maine and Massachusetts, cooking meals ahead for him and doing laundry, chores, cleaning, shopping, etc. and then speeding home and doing it for my own home and still working full time nights! The only advice I have is don't forget about YOU! Rest when you can, don't sweat the small stuff and try to enjoy the time you are spending with Dad. Time is short and when everything is over, you won't remember the hard stuff, you'l remember the quiet conversations and the little moments that you shared.

Doydie!- I so totally understand the sleeping thing! I am all backwards and sideways on my sleep right now! The weather is getting to me too. If it's not below zero with howling winds it's snowing right when I have to drive to work!! I chose to work nights just so I wouldn't have a lot of traffic to deal with, but when it's snowing I WANT the traffic so someone will be out there if something should happen to me while driving!

I also understand the missing the socialization. I have no year round neighbors, there are times when the only person I see for days is the old man and that gets OLD! :p I used to work 4 jobs, teach classes, VP of a volunteer ambulance, training officer, and keep up all my certs, and work full time plus! In many ways I like the change but there's so much I miss and being social is one. I guess that's why I like it here so much!! I get all of you! I'm happy to hear you will see the grands in a few weeks, they grow so fast and you deserve this time with them too!

Chris!- If you need any more snow, let me know, My brother is an over the road driver and we will ship down an 20 foot snow bank for you!

As for the secret handshake, we can show it to you but then we would have to...naaaaaah...we LIKE YOU!:D

Sal!- You are one of the people I am happy to see every day!! You are always so positive and your sense of humor slays me! You always seem to roll with the punches with a smile and a good word for everyone and I thank you for that!

Now...as for Nappy, Flappy, Tappy, Yappy and dopey..I mean dippy, ooops ( Tinky?)...I mean Dimmy...You special kids...I can't say enough good about you so I won't say anything at all!!!:grouphug:

It HAS been busy on the board and I am trying to keep up too, while investigating the places I have never looked in before! I think it's good that more people are here, it sort of makes me look around more and follow people to see what they are doing and when I do that I get more involved here too!!

Thanks Everybody for that

( a special note for Yappy, You are doing an EXCEPTIONAL JOB!! Everytime I go somewhere new, I see your responses and gentle reminders and helpful hints to the new folks! :You-Rock: :Thanx: You are amazing!)

HI Everyone: :Wave-Hello:

Sage is home. She got stomach sick about an hour after we were home, but is OK now.

CHERYL so far so good with the licking of the stitches. As you were saying about Holly the jumping, that's what Sage keeps wanting to do. How is Holly doing?

Missed reading and talking to everyone today. When I came on I didn't notice any new posts of our small family, unless I just missed finding you guys.

Take care Jappy

Hiya, Jappy! I'm so glad Sage is home and doing well now. I'm sure it makes you feel much better too.

I know what you mean, our little micro-community has expanded like a balloon! We're kind of all over the place, but I always look for you and Sal, and Doyd, and Beth, and Erin and... oh, Auntie Em, there's no place like home. Oops, sorry, I thought I saw a curtain go up.:o

You didn't tell us how you are doing, Joyce, how is the bod holding up today?

I am holding. THANK YOU

Truthfully I feel like I am going to drop. I am having the jittery, shaking feeling in my insides. I hate when that feeling comes around. When that starts the rest of the body problems act up.

Its only 7:15 pm but tonight I am going to try and go to bed early.

Riverwild your ability to retain and write such cool replies is inspiring. I feel the worst is behind us. Dad showered on his own tonight. Walked a bit without crutches. If I had a big ego, I'd say, it is because I am here to help him. LOL

I agree the influx of new people is so exciting. It makes the duldrums of winter more bearable. Thanks newbies, soon to b oldbies.

Our monkey should have a big gold star on her forehead for all the above and beyond work and spirit to make this transition painless. Thanks Curious!

Hi Cheryl
I'm doing fine today, except I tired of cold and snow already. Yesterday was the first day my back didn't hurt and I think I'm adjusting to more activity. Always a good thing. I'm not going to let that slip away... again

How are you feeling? I feel for you girl. I am sending healling thoughts your way. Enough is enough!

I tried to abandon them this morning. Got halfway across the living room and went "Opps! I've made a serious tactical error", and then asked my mom to roll her rollator over to me so I could go back to where I started from to get the crutches.

Now my ankle is starting to throb and my knee is an interesting size and shape...and forming a big bruise.

I kept waking up last night, because I sleep on my side, and everytime I bent my knee a little bit, it would wake me up.

My dad wants me to go to the store with him later. I'm either going to hop onto one of the electric carts, or we'll take two hours to buy a 6pack of pop and some doughnuts for breakfast.

Sage is actually doing better then me. It's 6:30 pm and this is the
first I came on my computer.

I am just not feeling good today. I also have to take Sage out on a lease for her nature call. Dr. doesn't want her running and jumping or rolling around outside. Great so the good Mom I am take her out a few times and she thinks it is time to play. I am dressed all up like an Eskimo. It is cold out.

On one of our trips outside I fell. The body is not doing what I want it to do. Brain is short circuiting. The fun of ms. Fell on my right hip and leg.
Thank God nothing broken just very sore now.

How is everyone? Going to look around and see if I find any of you.
This is getting to be stressful. Then I forget which thread that I might leave a post. I think I am going to have to write down the thread that I posted in.

Jappy :grouphug:

AfterMyNap 01-26-2008 06:21 PM

Aw, Jappy, you fell? I'm sorry, it sounds like this is one of those plain, old, poopy days for you.:( Can you possible let sage out just from the doorway until you feel a little better? I hate thinking of you falling like that.

Get some rest, girlie.

Oh, you can subscribe to a thread to make it easier to follow. Also, bookmarking anything that you want to see on a regular basis makes it easier.

Feel better, soon.

Hi everyone :Wave-Hello:

This is the first time I am on the computer today. Taking care of
sage and resting myself. Sage is doing great. I am a little sore from my fall.
I am getting around.

The real problem today is my eyes again. That is the main reason
I waited this late to say hello to all of you. I am not going to stay on as long
tonight as usual. Will check around and see whats up.

Hey guys!

Can I come in here too??? :)

I really am so happy to be here! You might even like one or two of us! The rest you can ignore!!! :D (really I don't think a single person came over that I don't like!)

Any of you guys quilt? or do crafts with fabrics? We were starting a fabric swap thing and lost our main person....I know one of you crochets!

And Chris is from my own state, but must be more north of me, since she had snow! We don't get snow! Well, every once in so many years!

I'm the crocheter! Keeps me from killing people who annoy me.

I also knit, but only learned that about a year and a half ago. I've attempted quilting and sewing. I have a really nice Husqvarna Viking sewing machine. I make really basic christmas gift bags with it. Someday I'll be able to make clothing, hopefully.

I also draw occasionally, but the only thing I draw is my (now deceased) dog, TinyMonsters. He's about the only thing I can get to look like what I want the drawing to look like.

I want to start making stitch markers for crochet and knitting. The type I want to make will look like earrings (and probably could be used as earrings) I just cant afford the beads, sterling silver wire and earring backs yet. (if they're going to double as earrings, it has to be sterling silver for me. I'm allergic to nickel) I have a couple of the tools, just nothing to make with them yet.

DM??

Taffy...snow today?

Boy did we get some snow today, and again tomorrow. ;)

I am feeling a bit better. Doc decided I didn't need to be seen tomorrow in Portland - yeah!! So I will keep my regular appt next week for the Trial!

I'm here. Right leg is still sore from launching off the stairs last week. Whole body hurts. My neck hurts today too. Wonder if I whiplashed myself or something. I'm really sore now.

It was 56 degrees yesterday. It's something like -15 today...and we had a lot of snow this morning...but it was windy enough that a lot of the snow blew off somewhere and it doesnt look like we really had all that much now.

I've been crocheting and knitting a bunch the past few days. Trying to teach myself a few new knitting techniques.

I'm really glad I went yarn shopping last week when it was on sale.

I hope you get to feeling less achy soon!

We're getting a whopper of a snow storm here tonight! It's been snowing off and on all day but it's really coming down now. Sure am glad I don't have to fly over to Portland tomorrow!

I haven't crocheted in a long time. I've got to get busy as I have a baby blanket to make for a friend who just found out she's PG...that's one thing I can do without a lot of trouble!
