Hi Cheryl
No cast, the air cast lasted 6 days and my doc said take that off. I guess the ER was so surprised it wasn't broken that they treated it like it was.

I took the ace wrap off a couple weeks ago, and wore a neoprene brace (walmart). I stopped that because it hightened the spasticity in the achilles, so stiff. Yuck.

So now, I just wear slippers in the house and tennies outdoors. I can go up stairs like a big girl but have to go down stairs like a little kid. PT is kicking my butt, but I'm still working on getting the swelling down. More ice and elevation. It actually increased by 1/8 in. in a week. Not good.

I see a podiatrist on the 18th. Not sure what s/he can do, but pcp wants it done. Wow, this has turned into a long reply. Aren't you glad you asked?

Yes, I am glad I asked. Sorry it has turned into a nightmare for you! I hope the pod can help you out! I broke my ankle a few years ago and it was not fun so I can imagine what you are going through!

Take care!

Hugs!

Is anyone getting more snow with this storm that is coming thru?

My son lives in Winchester,KY. He said that they are getting ready
for 6-12in. more of the white stuff.

He also said the winds are really blowing. Can't wait for this weather to
change.

Here's hoping that no one has anymore falls. We have to keep
these bones in one piece.

Beth I hope that you are doing better.

Last night we had heavey rain and high winds. This morning when I
woke up it was 42 degrees out and lightly rainy.

There is fog rolling in now. I don't understand what is happening with
the weather anymore. Two days ago we were in the low 20s. This is
the first winter that I can remember when we had only snow 1 time that
had to shovel. The ice storms were not as bad as all of you had. Not that
I am complaining. It's just that everything is changing so.

Even Fla. had unusual cold weather this year. My sister said this was the
first year that she had to have the heat on more than ever.

Let's all cry out for

spring

We got about 18 inches in our blizzard yesterday. Today the sun was shining and it was cold. But could see patches of concrete where the plow and snowblower with some help from the sun, was peeking through.

I tried to shovel, but after 15 minutes, and getting just down the steps and about 5 ft from the door... I fell backwards and had to be rescued by my sister. I tried using my arms to get up, but they kept going deeper. Needless to say, a warm shower and some dry jammies followed.

My fellow Ohioians are you as buried in snow as we are? I even heard Atlanta got a bit of snow yesterday.
