Yep, do it all the time, all day long - plus I talk to the cats, the TV (usually because it irritates me) and inanimate objects (thanks, Dad). If I'm doing something complex, I talk myself through it to stay on track. If I mess something up, I chew myself out and if I did good I congratulate me. I also sing...a lot.

When someone has asked me if I'm talking to myself, I usually say "Yes, and I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't interrupt me." I'm also known to say "I just LOVE the sound of my own voice!" (DH cracks up at that one).

You sound normal to me!

I don't talk to myself but I carry on conversations with Yadi, my precious kitty. Sometimes he even answers me . Course I don't speak or understand Birman, tho it is very easy to understand when he's sitting by his empty dish or when he headbutts the pantry door & sounds pitiful - that means he wants a treat!

I do find myself singing or humming a lot but unforunately, I'm not good at remembering words to songs, so I end up singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Amazing Grace, God Bless America or the National Anthem a lot. And for some reason I can remember all the words to the French national anthem from high school French I.

Of course I talk to myself. How else would I know what I am doing or what to do next? ...not that I always do (know) but I do talk to myself all day every day.

Talk to myself, if I did not do that then who else would I talk to?
I can recall quite vividly a recent conversation I had with my dryer who had given sanctuary to some run away clothes. There there was that conversation with the oven and range at the same time demanding to know what it taking the so long to get cooking.

Do you think there is a problem here? Now of course you can not have a conversation if they do not answer me but they do!

The only thing the dryer would not give up was what his clan does with all those missing socks!

I carry on conversations with myself (dogs, cats, TV, etc) all day/night.

My dogs are battling all around me, they want me to talk to them . (spoiled brats!) Talk to all those in Heaven, too. (They don't talk back, yet)

So, normal, ok? We're all normal here

If not, what are we??

Hmm..I talk to my cats, and a couple of them are pretty reliable for talking back. My dog, not so much, but he looks at me with total adoration in his eyes so who cares..
Talk to myself? Does talking to the voices in my head count?

I guess we all talk to ourselves in some fashion or another.

I talk to the animals. Tell them to wait a bit I'm on my way guys, I'm running as fast as I can (stumbling more like it) and stop your crying you have enough fat on you your not gonna waste away waiting for me to get you food. LOL

I however, will not get involved in an argument with myself. That's when I draw the line.

I think it's healthy, most likely a stress reliever. Mind you I do not talk to myself in public, except for the odd swear word. OK OK, it more than the odd swear word, more like a dictionary of swearing, that just rolls off the tongue. All in good fun. Get the "F" out of my way you *&^. And you thought I was a polite little ole lady. Fooled ya!

I talk to myself all the time, some days it is the only way i can get an adult conversation. Most days I talk to my cat my hubby thinks that I am nuts but, she will meow back to me so she is answaering me.

Default self-talker

Sure, I talk to myself. Sometimes when going about the house cleaning, laundry, dishes... a verbal self-reminder to do something.

And, if a cat or dog are nearby I might ask for their opinion. When I don't get one, I say something to the effect of: "Oh,wait, you're a <cat/dog>! and you don't get a vote it this." And then I move on having then made a decision on whatever the issue was

Cheers!

Niko
