I vote that you should see an opthalmologist ASAP!
My ON lasted about 10 months before I was treated with IVSM. It didn't improve until I took the medicine. My vision was so bad by the time I got to the neuro-opthalmologist, that I could do some of the tests with my right eye...because I literally couldn't see out of that eye! I was legally blind in my right eye. And still, the optic nerve didn't look pale. I was seeing my opthalmologist, the neuro-opth. and a retinalogist (both at Stanford University). They all just kept hemming and hawwing until the LP showed o-bands. Then everyone said "MS". They all told me that with the first round of ON, it's not uncommon for the optic nerve NOT to look pale.

get an ophthalmologist to check you out....
When it comes to your eyes, I, personally, wouldn't take a non opthalmologist's advice.....including an ER doc! |

ON can be dx (depending on which test they use) a while after onset. A multifocal VEP can pick it up years later.
