You were teaching seventh graders?

When I was in grade school, the seventh graders (and the 8th graders too) were the most obnoxious kids in the building!

How were you able to make it to lunch, much less the entire day, after dealing with seventh graders?

If the school system has a "homework help" telephone line, maybe you can do a few shifts on that?

Lots of troubled kids are falling thru the cracks and need tutors....you could make a huge difference in these kids lives....once they understand the work, they usally succeed beyond the imagination of typical teachers....

Hey HS,

I had to smile when I read your thread! You took on too much!!!!

Sign up for 1/2 days only for a while! That's usually all I do. Mornings are the pits - wake up early, BUT take a nap when I get home! (Today's drill!)

Afternoon assignments leave you to wake up leisurely!

Try it again, just miniature style!

If you like middle school kids, regular ed, that's great! If you thought they were a bit too much ask for Honor's or Special Ed....

Peace.

You get an E for effort and a gold star on your forehead for trying. Craig.

I admire that. I would be very fearful of my life to step into a room full of vivacious 7th graders, so KUDO's, my friend.

Hey Craig, at least you tried and that took some guts just to do that!

Just making it through the day with 7th graders gets you an award! If they are anything like I was in 7th grade, every teacher deserves a medal for making it through ONE day, nevermind year after year.

I am a firm believer that teachers deserve combat pay!!

Well done for giving it a try Craig.

It's not easy to always estimate the right number of spoons needed for each activity, and far too easy to want to partake in something that uses more than our daily allocation, but I congratulate you on your determination, in at least having a go.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.

hey Craig!

I don't know what all the fuss is about 7th graders! They are WONDERFUL!!! However, you really might want to try 3rd or 4th...they usually are better as a group as far as pleasing the teacher!!

Good luck!

I admire you for taking on that grade with or without health problems and I LOVE kids of all ages but 7th grade (to my memory) was not an easy age of children to deal with (and I am just remembering being a parent) LOL !!!
