If it were me, I would calm down a bit and then write a letter to the neuro, explaining that in the future, you expect to be treated with respect, and not like a child. If he feels you are exagerating, then he needs to discuss it with you. His conduct was highly inappropriate.

I would find that new neuro so you can walk away from this one ASAP. You need someone who will work with you and not against you.

I would give the guy ONE (1) more chance to explain himself and the actions of "Sharie" on HIS staff. Who did she consult with anyway.

He is way out of line and violated patient confidentiality by going to your husband privately. (Unless you listed him on your neuro's documents as one to share information.)

My gut feeling is to find a new neuro especially before you start Ty. Just to make sure everyone is on the same page.

There is no excuse for what he and his staff have done. Also, why didn't the ER call him when you came in for treatment? You did tell them he referred you to the ER, correct? You could have been having a heart attack based on your symptoms. As we all know, symptoms for women are different then men.

I'm ticked on so many levels about this. Cheri hit the nail on the head!

I understand that with everything that is going on right now that you also do not have to find a new neuro. I also understand that you do not have to wait on starting the tysabri. So I guess I would also write a letter as suggested by Greta. Then if you are not satisfied with his response, you can look for a new neuro when things calm down. I think sometimes it is easier to be logical and express your feelings/thought in written form.

Oh -- I also wanted to add that your neuro sounds like a complete *#*!

Hmmm after hearing this, perhaps I was right with my comment on your other thread. He is the freak.

I agree with those who have suggested writing a letter. Write the letter, give him a chance to respond and then see how you feel. It might end up that no matter what he says or does that you may not be able to feel secure again. I know it would be hard for me to trust him.

So, get your MRI, get your infusion, come take care of your mom, then when things settle down you can write the letter and research options for a new neuro.

Default Let's play dump the doc

Joelle,

Isn't life hard enough without having an incompetent jerk for a doctor? I can't believe he did that to you. I'm more concerned with his inability to remember anything about you, his failure to review your chart and the fact that he doesn't even remember sending you to the ER, than I am with him pulling your husband aside and disrespecting you.

There are good doctors out there who care. They aren't easy to find, but they are a joy to work with.

Good luck to you, and my fullest empathy on your experience.

Katty

O-M-G GIRL.....

Did ya get the shouting on that? I dont even know what to say....what a jerk......I dropped my first neuro over carp like that. He had the nerve to look at my dh and ask him "Do you know how much the DMD's cost?" Tim said yes the he tells Tim we probably couldnt afford them. This was within the first few minutes of our very first meeting of the man...
HOW THE HE77 WOULD HE KNOW?

I just wont see a dr who has no respect for his job.....and that job would be to take care of me and my best intrests in order to improve my health....NOT STRESS ME OUT AND MAKE ME WANNA CRY OR KILL HIM.....

KICK THAT JERK TO THE CURB.....makes ya wonder what else he
1) is saying behind your back
2)really thinks about your illness
3) is really going to do to hlep you get better.....

THAT IS NOT A SECURE FEELING TO HAVE ABOUT YOUR DR............

Are there other drs in the area you can see? I would so totally be checking that out.
That first neuro I dumped was 1 1/2 hours from home for me each way.
I switched to a neuro whom was 3 hours away each way just to get a good new neuro!
It is well worth the drive for me....knowing the quality of care and treatment I get there now......

Bless your heart...and like you said also...thank God your dh is a good guy.....!!!!!!!!!

Craig....even if her dhs name was on the release info to list....SHE WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE. He should have discussed with her in a more professional way his thoughts and concerns...not going to her dh like she was a nut case and couldnt be told that....

I say again ...O-M-G!

Keep us posted and if ya ever need to talk....you know how to find me lol....

You are so right about this. Heck! She WAS sitting right there and SHE is the patient. What did the neuro think, DH "wasn't" going to discuss this conversation with her?

Give me a brake!

How old is this doctor? What he did sounds like something my grandfather would do! **Let's not upset the little lady - we men will just discuss her "fragile condition" behind her back and she'll be none the wiser.** Give me a break! What would he have done if you didn't have a husband - or one that went with you to the appointments? Did he honestly not think that Tim would NOT have mentioned this to you? Good grief - with doctors like this we certainly DO need anxiety meds!

Before my next appointment with this baboon I would make a list of questions and put him on the spot - ask him point blank what he was thinking when he "slipped the note" to your hubby. Or better yet - have Tim ask him and let the doc know that you didn't appreciate the breach of trust.

Or. . . . . .just let all of us know when and where your next appointment is and we'll all meet you there and give him a piece of our mind (s) - collectively I bet we have at least one complete mind to work with!!

Thank you EVERYBODY!!!

I was thinking I was a crazy bi#$% for a little while. Well, I might just be a little crazy, LOL.

Craig- When I went to the er I told them that I had MS and that my doctor sent me in. I told them his name. They didn't call him.

I think when you go to the hospital and tell them that you have MS they automatically assume whatever problem you are having is related to the disease.

I'm debating about whether to send my doctor a letter or wait until I can formally direct my ire at him in person.

I think if I send him a letter and wait to see him for a response, he may have a little too much time to come up with some convoluted excuse for his and his staff's behavior. I won't allow that to happen.

I am a rather level-headed person and can usually come up with a way to express myself without sounding like a raving lunatic. I will make him feel like the aZZhoal that he is. I can stick it to him with a big smile on my face. I am feeling a sort of cold and calculating type of rage right now. It is probably misdirected somewhat because of all of the other things going on in my life. (It's a very good thing that I won't see him until next month.)

Pardon my language, btw. You really wouldn't want to hear me in person right now.

After I see his reaction, I will decide how to proceed.

Hugs to all, and thanks again for the support. I am sorry for being so needy lately. LOL.
