I try not to inject too closely to any existing red spots because I'm hoping to prevent lipotrophy and potential skin breakdown. No problems after 5 years. Those areas are just rought guidelines. You can move all around withing them. As someone else mentioned -wherever you have fat is a good spot (with a few exceptions! ). That way you can really distribute the shots around and not have to worry about hitting the same area more than once while it's still red.
