It helps alot, and DH says he is sleeping better! I don't get hungover from the pill either.

Well, dang it, Greenjeans. I was going to ask my doctor for a prescription for this because I've been having RLS symptoms now for quite a while and this was one side effect that I was actually looking forward to!

I have a question about this because I am confused. I have what I thought was RLS but have also wondered if what I am experencing is more like spasms.

My doctor gave me Trileptal for TN and it has helped with my face pain. I have also noticed a huge improvement in how my legs feel. I can actually sit comfortably at watch tv in the evening!
Before the medication my toes would contract and my foot and leg would jump. I feel what seems like pressure or pulling in my lower back and then it travels down my leg to my feet. My right is worse than my left. But I get relief if I lay on the floor or go to bed.
If I have symptoms in bed I do not notice. It does not keep me from going to sleep once I am realaxed.
Is that RLS?

My DH would love it if I would exhibit one of the side effects those commercials warn--I'm sure you know which one...

My legs always move. They feel uncomfortable if I don't move them. When I am in bed, I kick and toss around. I had no idea my DH was suffering lost sleep because of it. He was actually with me when I got the dx...and told the doctor he'd sure appreciate it if he could stop my legs!

I told DH if he ever comes home and finds me on the internet watching porn on one screen and trading stocks on the other, to call the doc! <GRIN!>

This site talked about this also Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD) I think I kind of fit into that dx a little better. It says that people wiht PLMD do not always know they are moving in their sleep. As I understand it people with RLS can not sleep because of leg movement. Going to be actually gives me some relief.
I do have involuntary movements of my toes. That is what makes me wonder about spasms.

OH those side effects! They can sure cause some interesting trouble. If they would throw weight loss in there and loose the gambling they might have a real winning combination!

Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, if this is what I have it would explain why my bed looks like a war zone when I wake up in the morning! And I thought it was my husband messing up the sheets and blankets! I could not keep a sheet on the bed if my life depended on it! I went out and bought some of those clips that holds the sheet in place and that has helped a lot.
My mom has RLS so bad that she actually wears holes in the sheets where her feet are. She is on medication for RLS but I do not recall which one.
