Default One of "those" days!

Not sure if this should be here or in "The Stumble INN". I think there's more MS in it than social stuff, but please move it if you wish dear mods.

I've had one of "those" days! There have been good bits, and there have been not so good bits.

I went to the neuro today to get my MRI results from the scan I had 2 weeks ago. When I got there I found that I'd been booked in for nerve conduction studies as well.

That was news to me, but the nurse/technician was really lovely and we chatted through the whole thing about our pets. She had to have her German Shepherd put down today....which was really sad (we've had Shepherds in the past as well), but apart from that it all went well.

Seems there've been no changes on my MRI since the last one in 2006, and the nerve conduction studies were OK as well.....so good news for me about both of those things.

The neuro said said he was happy with how I was going.....would I reconsider giving DMDs another go....NO? OK.....I'll see you again in 2 years then!!

Sounds like a good start to the day, so what could be my problem one might ask.....????

*

*

W-e-e-e-ll....

*

*

I was in the garden this afternoon picking lemons (the tree is laden at the moment) and I over balanced! .................enough said??

. .

I now have skin off one elbow, one knee, numerous fingers, one shoulder and " I'm fairly certain"....I have one broken big toe!!!

No....I haven't had the toe Xrayed, but I've broken 6 bones in the 5 years up until last year, and DH also broke a toe a little while back. You start to get used to how they feel after a while ..... .and that swollen, black and blue look .... that hurts like crazy, gets to be a dead give away after a while!!

Then there's the emotional roller coaster!!

I've been getting teary at times. I don't know why, but I tend to get so very miserable for a while (mostly it's just hours or a the most....a day or two), then BINGO....it passes and I'm OK again!

I know......I sure am a strange one!

(((Koala))) Those spills can be so frustrating. I am glad you are OK and it wasn't serious. Be careful!

As for the emotional roller coaster, take a look at the past year and look at all that you have been through. It is a lot!!!! I would be on the same ride if I had been through what you have in the past year. Allow these melt downs to happen and understand and accept where they are coming from.

I think all of us at some point take this ride for a bit. Sometimes there are reasons for it and other times there isn't (that we can identify).

Sending you big cyber 's

Sorry to hear about the spill. Hope you heal up soon.

Understand about the emotions going all over the place. Seems to be part and parcel of this crazy thing. Sometimes I'm over sensitive and find myself crying or being angry over things that usually wouldn't bother me. Or these emotions just come out of the blue.

So double hugs heading your way.

Sorry to hear about your fall. I hate falling. Glad your MRI and NCV were good, though. I do hope your toe heals quickly. DH broke his pinky toe a few years back and I remember how much pain he was in. I hope it isn't that bad for you.

Sorry to hear about the fall, Koala. I've broken my toe 6 times, and there's not a whole heck of a lot they can do about that, eh? They just don't make casts small enough.

The moodiness is called "Emotional libility" in MS, and is described under that heading in the attached link:

http://www.mssociety.org.uk/doc_stor...d_Emotions.pdf

This symptom was a big change for me, but so long as it is not effecting my day-to-day interactions too much, I tend to just go with the flow; a big tear here, a small rage there.

(For me, when I am weepy I find I am normally either particularly hormonal or very fatigued. Either way, I just sleep for a while and it normally lets up.)

So sorry about the spill. Broken toes hurt a lot.
I have broken 4 bones my self over the past 8 years, all toes (shattered my big toe, lost the toe nail and have permeant nerve damage, broke 1 toe 2 times and than broke my pinky toe). Guess you can tell I don't were shoes much.
