Question New member!

Hello! I recently joined and thought I'd say hello. I've had MS since 1997 - Ah! I can't believe its been that long - but at the same time i can. My main symptom right now is physical/mental fatigue and cognitive impairment. Does anyone know if anything can be done for the cognitive impairment? I have a Masters degree in Counseling Services but I don't have a job! I don't feel like I can focus or function. The frustrating thing is that all through college i had active lesions and physical symptoms - now...for the very first time i had NO lesions on my last MRI but I feel like so crummy and i have these cognitive symptoms. I'm on Tysabri and I know the studies have shown that tysabri is effective and obviously it is according to my last MRI - but my MRI is not showing on the outside. Anyone on tysabri or have these kind of symtoms. I'm so glad i found this site! Josie

Josie,

I've been dx'd since 02. Just wanted to say hello. I'm not on any of the ABC drugs right now.

Welcome!

Kim

Hiya Josie and welcome! (Your name makes me want to hum the theme from Josie and the Pussycats--one of my favorite cartoons when I was little.)

Have you seen a neuropsychologist? If not, you might want to do that. The neuropsych can administer a battery of tests that will show where you have impairment and will be able to suggest accommodations that you can make to overcome (or try to) the problems. When I went in 2003, I had a LOT of great suggestions given to me and they really helped.

You'll love it here. Folks are friendly and funny.

G.
