yeah it starts with my knees too, either they lock up and i fall forward or they just melt (no other way to explain it ) and so do my legs and down i go. I too have had total reconstruction surgery on my ankle, plate pins screws, even new ligaments, I dont lead with that foot ever, which is kind of funny cause the leg i lead with is the one with the bad knee, cant win for losing

not to sidetrack things too much sorry,

I hope things get better for you sheena

LMAO - I have no idea but the dogs seemed to like it, probably why they wouldn't leave me alone

Sorry to disappoint you - no picture . I think DH was concerned about getting arrested

Cherie - I have had each leg give on me at different times but it seems to be the left leg that does it the most. It was the left ankle I broke and I have sprained the left leg twice. Sometime you really don't know other than your down on the ground....again.

RW - I hyper-extend and probably have for years. When I had PT she got a little frustrated with me because I couldn't walk normal. She kept telling me to bend my knees - I can't although I did try but I felt like I would fall. I liked her but I don't think she had alot of experience with someone who has MS.

Well dang Frank we're a matching set I have worked, on my own, to try and bring both legs to the same ability but I still find myself at times favoring the left over the right.

Sheena, how are you doing? We really don't mean to stray from your original post but as you can see when having MS you really need to be careful and take whatever precautions are necessary and as we have already mentioned - PT

Interesting that there are a few of us with the same "cause" (hyper-extension). I'll have to research that some time.

When this first started, it happened only when I ran. I was very athletic and fit back then, with no injuries. Must be a communication breakdown of some sort.

Hi Ya, I just wanted to thank all of you for your advise. Stupid me did not even notice I was falling when I had my flip bedroom shoes on. They have to go. Anyone know where I can get a nice looking cane for out? The drug store ones look terrible. I'll consider the rail later. I want out of this house so holding on more $$. RW has a great idea about PT. I'll look into that next week. The last fall ended up ok, but I'm still looking at my terrible looking purple and hard in places leg and hip-behind fron 1.5 weeks ago. It makes me sick to look at. Sorry I didn't post sooner. I have been soooooooo depressed since I got sick sick till I have tried not to say much. I'm on day 15 sick now, but very glad to say I feel a bit better. God willing the new meds are kicking in. Atleast I have a little hope. I was about to give up till this morning when I felt a bit better. So, if I have sounded crazy that was why. That and the fact that I pride myself in being a bit crazy LOL - Thanks and Take Care All

Hi Sheena
Good to hear from you, I was getting worried. I can't help you on the cute cane search, I've yet to reach that point.

Definitely toss those slippers. I am hunting myself for the perfect spring/summer pair.

I hope this feeling better is a corner turned. You have been through so much. Continue to feeling better.
