Hi Erin,
Re: Amitriptylin, I take it for a couple of my mysterious symptoms -- initially, I started out low-dose (10mg before bedtime) for CPM (chronic pain management). However, my doctor upped the amount to 25mg, and now I also reap from its usage re: sleep and possibly as a preventative to full-blown depression. And FYI - I also read that it helps with tons of other symptoms, ranging from bedwetting to PMS to eating disorder to premature ejaculation to migraine headaches, etc.! It's also OK for long-term use, I've been told...
Good luck with the insomnia, and whatever else is on your plate.

Erin

Maybe once you get the infections cleared up, you will feel better! I know that once I got rid of the sinus infection from hell that I felt a whole lot better!

Sleep helps too...

Hi Erin. Sorry about all your problems. I feel like a walking pharmacy myself.

I actually take 50mg of elavil at night. It puts me out in about 45 minutes. It has also helped with the burning pain that I get in my neck.

I started out at 25mg but it didn't help the pain so after about 4 weeks he upped it. It has really been a godsend for me. Luckily I don't have the groggy side effects in the morning.
