One of the possible therapies my neuro mentioned to me was rituxan. After reading about it I have to admit it scares me. After my experience with tysabri I am hesitant to try a drug that is also associated with PML's and infusion deaths.
I was also wondering about estirol. He did not mentioned it but I do know they are currently testing it. I think I would like to hold out for tovaxin if it is likely it will be approved in the next year. |

I am interested in both Esterol and Tovaxin as well.
I think they started recruiting for another larger trial with Esterol last fall, and I am going to follow up with my Neuro on whether they are still looking for volunteers. I think they were looking for people who have never done the DMD's, so they might still be having trouble getting people for it, or at least those who have had the disease a long time/are more disabled. I would volunteer for that trial, since I am also going through the final stages of menopause. Kill two birds with one stone, maybe? ![]() Cheryl might have a better idea of when Tovaxin might be going public . . .? I really like the idea of treating this disease without heavy duty drugs, and Tovaxin fits the bill in that way too. I''ve always had a good feeling about Tovaxin, at least for some of us. I don't think this is a "one size fits all" disease though. Cherie
