He's not worth it. This trip is about my mom...not him, not me and not his wife...most assuredly.

How right you are!

From what you've said, your Mom is your number one concern at the moment, as she obviously needs you on her side.

I have some family members that I have little to do with now, as the stress they've caused me over the years simply isn't worth the pain they've put me through.

Hang in there FG. No-one is worth putting up with that carp for.

Thank you Cherie. I have been reading all sorts of stuff on PN and couldn't find anything quickly that said "Peripheral neuropathy is not a feature of MS, ..."

He's not confused, just misinformed. She also suffers from depression and has been on some heavy duty drugs for that for years. I know from talking to her daughter that her mother had PN. So there is some family history.

Thanks!

I think the confusion (not his . . . but in just differentiating sometimes) is because our peripheral nerves are often ultimately affected with MS. That's as a result to the damage in the CNS though . . . different kettle of fish.

You're welcome.

Cherie

Ignorant family members, very sick mom, trip out of state, hmmmm??? Cheryl, are you sure we aren't living parallel lives :)?? I'm getting on a plane to PA today and I'll be there for who knows how long. My brother and sil are major pains in the ****!! In fact I'm gonna go start my own thread coz I need to vent a bit before I hit the road, er, sky. :) Sorry you have to deal with all of this carp Cheryl, I feel for ya. I really do.:hug:

Hmmm...wonder if I can guess the family member? Do I win a prize if I get it right?! Maybe he'll leave you alone for awhile now. Hugs to you, your sis, and especially your mom.

good going AV sometimes, when someone is wrong they just have to be shown the light of their misguided ways, imagine you felt a lot better too, and you are right the visit was for her not him his ego or his attutude

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure I had done the right thing, but at the time it was. He was trying to get sympathy for his wife. And frankly my sis and I were fed up. That's not what yesterday was about...I removed him from the room (he was extremely reluctant to leave) and we had it out.

I just found out that he is meeting Mom and I for lunch today. This should be very interesting.

Think I will jot down a few of the websites I discovered last night about PN...:rolleyes:

Well, if this is the case, my Grandmother had PN, my Mother, Sister, Aunt, cousin all have PN. OH, and my daughter has Lupus and may be tested for PN.

Maybe I should call them and tell them they have a "Rare Form of MS"

Good Luck with the lunch today!

Confused here...

So does that mean that PN is not a sx of MS?

I thought that the nerves can be screwed up enough to cause that type of pain...just as they can cause muscle spasms, fasciculations, etc.

Please clarify for me...my brain is seeing question marks dancing in the air:confused:
