Hi Debbie! This has got to be very frustrating. I have things like this happen too, not often, but it does happen. Makes me crazy! I also feel stupid when it's pointed out to me. Let us know how that testing goes....

Debbie,
How are you sleeping? Whenever I sleep poorly and or get little sleep, my cognitive ability is really iffy. And I have been known to forget a lot more during these times. Try to sleep really good! If you are married and in the same bed, try single beds in your room. Interrupted sleep is really hard on people. If your bedmate snores, make him see the doctor! I hope your visit is productive. |

Sorry Debbie for all you are going through.
Sounds so scary. My husband was like that and I too have had some serious "spacing"out moments ON MY JOB!! Lead me to another neurologist for EEG and to rule out seizures first. No seizures But now this other neuro thinks it may be related to Narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Since i do not get good sleep/oxygen at night I guess you grab moments during the day WHILE awake and space out or its called "micro sleeping" In my husband's case he lost his short term memory damage due to a sever seizure. He really had to write down as much as he could cuz there was no way he'd remember. Now dont worry as those are extremes. Sometimes toxicity on the brain can cause this and you can improve your memory by getting a good detox. I did mine through a trained nutritionist who knew how to detect the deficiencies and toxicity. The brain is marvelous at healing itself. Hope you get answers. This PHd will probably test you. REmember BAD IS GOOD in this case. Good luck. Will be looking forward to hearing how you are doing. Warmly, Jan |

i'm sorry that you're having this problem debbie.
i would definitely call your neuro because this sx is significant. i was beginning to have really bad short term memory problems. my neuro put me on a drug called namenda. and it's helped me a lot. there are several drugs to help cognition. most often they're touted as a help for alzeiheimer's patients. ask your dr about them.

hello
![]() as far as advice, log down everything you order and or set up, like appts. i still mark my calendar each day to let me know i took shot because i will forget and cant tell if i took it, I dont feel my shot, dont let it stress you, you are not alone in the cogfog part of MS, it sucks its annoying its... what were we talking about :smiles:::: try to keep your humor as best as you can, I have noticed the more stressed I am the worse my memory, plus fatigue seems to factor into my memory and or lack thereof good luck on your docs appt and slow down that helps too peace

Sorry you are having these issues, must be pretty frustrating and scarey!! Are you having any other "MS" related s/s? Could this be an exaceration. Are you under lots of stress? Sleeping and eating right? There could be a number of reasons this could be happening. Hop you figure it out!! Let us know how you are!
Hugs, Connie

Thanks to all of you...
Yes, my stress level has increased since coming back home from Hawaii...I had 2 incidences of balance issues there, after I became overheated during a walk and when I overdid it while working out. Dealing with all that my in laws need, plus just normal family type issues makes me feel overwhelmed very easily. I've been pretty weepy, too... not just tears, but all out crying jags, wailing, the whole bit ![]() car in the parking lot again, etc. I need to slow down, focus, pay more attention. I just had to cancel the neuro psych eval because I neglected to check with the health ins. co. to see if he was in network. Nope...even though I asked them about it when I called for the appt. Seems they're listed in behavioral health, so I have to get preauth., etc., even though this is not psychological therapy. Grrr. I've decided to go through my pcp to get a new dr. for this, instead of the neuro. Have a wonderful day, everyone, and thanks again. Such a great, supportive bunch of people!! ![]() |
