Hi everyone...
I am going in for a consult tomorrow with a neuropsychologist. Good thing, too, because my memory problems are creating havoc. I can't remember what prescriptions I've sent in for mail order, I'm losing entire conversations, and it's making me very upset. I just talked to my daughter, and I asked her when she's going to get her oil changed. She said, "I told you last night, I already did." I didn't even remember talking to her last night!! It's stressful, because I try to take care of meds, dr. appts., etc for my in laws. My cognitive problems haven't been this bad for about 15 mos. Is it normal if you have MS to forget this much? I'm still in limbo, but this is really scary. After I talk to the guy tomorrow, should I call the neuro about this? Any advice would really be appreciated. |

Hi Debbie~ Just wanted to wish you luck at your appt tomorrow? Are you having any other SX's?? If unsure, maybe you should call the Neuro's office tomorrow and let them know this is going on.
Please let us know how your appt goes. take care. {{{{Debbie}}}}

Hi Debbie! This has got to be very frustrating. I have things like this happen too, not often, but it does happen. Makes me crazy! I also feel stupid when it's pointed out to me. Let us know how that testing goes....

Debbie,
How are you sleeping? Whenever I sleep poorly and or get little sleep, my cognitive ability is really iffy. And I have been known to forget a lot more during these times. Try to sleep really good! If you are married and in the same bed, try single beds in your room. Interrupted sleep is really hard on people. If your bedmate snores, make him see the doctor! I hope your visit is productive. |

Sorry Debbie for all you are going through.
Sounds so scary. My husband was like that and I too have had some serious "spacing"out moments ON MY JOB!! Lead me to another neurologist for EEG and to rule out seizures first. No seizures But now this other neuro thinks it may be related to Narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Since i do not get good sleep/oxygen at night I guess you grab moments during the day WHILE awake and space out or its called "micro sleeping" In my husband's case he lost his short term memory damage due to a sever seizure. He really had to write down as much as he could cuz there was no way he'd remember. Now dont worry as those are extremes. Sometimes toxicity on the brain can cause this and you can improve your memory by getting a good detox. I did mine through a trained nutritionist who knew how to detect the deficiencies and toxicity. The brain is marvelous at healing itself. Hope you get answers. This PHd will probably test you. REmember BAD IS GOOD in this case. Good luck. Will be looking forward to hearing how you are doing. Warmly, Jan |

i'm sorry that you're having this problem debbie.
i would definitely call your neuro because this sx is significant. i was beginning to have really bad short term memory problems. my neuro put me on a drug called namenda. and it's helped me a lot. there are several drugs to help cognition. most often they're touted as a help for alzeiheimer's patients. ask your dr about them.
