I kinda know how you feel Barb. I feel that way about the fatigue meds sometimes. None worked for me and bad reactions.

But everyone's right - it's the drug companies' failures, not yours.

Hang in there!

Hi Barb,

You've gotten so many good answers and I agree that NO, you are not a failure! And YES the pharma companies have failed you.

I felt the same way when I got so sick while on Rebif. At the time it was hailed as the most effective medicine by most. Others were doing beautifully on it! My MS neuro referred to it as the best. He had said in the beginning of my DX, you can take Avonex for now, we'll bring out the big guns (Rebif) later if necessary. I felt awful when the "big guns" didn't work out for me!

But different things worked better later on. You have other choices, and before long, there will be even more with all the meds in trial now. Hang in there and know we're on your side. And no more of that talk of feeling like a failure!

Barb!
YOU are NOT a failure!

You are also NOT alone in this!

No drug works for everyone, not even aspirin!

There's a LOT of stuff in the pipeline and new information is coming out even as we speak.

Some of us just get lucky when something works, for however long it works. Others run through the med cabinet a little faster. If Tysabri stops working for me, I will move forward and find another treatment, as you have done and are doing now, as others have done before you.

If one drug worked for everyone, we would only have one treatment and this would be a fairly boring place!

Hang in there, hang with us and we'll hang WITH you!

Thanks everyone! I guess I have been driving myself slightly (or maybe not so slightly) crazy thinking about possible treatment options. Whatever did people so before the internet? I have managed to get myself so stressed out by this that I am now dealing with IBS. I thought I had that under control. I am happy I am seeing the ms specialist on Friday. I don't think I could wait for 2 more months

I did not mean to sound envious of those individuals () for whom the DMD's are helping.
