Ewwww . . . the dreaded headache.

Hope you have that patch, and get to feeling better soon.

I spoke with our leetle Yabbit earlier tonight. As Flygirl posted, she is resting somewhat comfortably, they gave her everything BUT a blood patch. She has PROMISED that should she still have the headache tomorrow she WILL get the blood patch.

I am not sure where she went ( I spaced out that question!), but if it was anywhere except a major hospital, there would very likely NOT have been an anesthesiologist on call, the little hospitals up here just don't do surgery. It's medevac for emergencies and ambulance for less dire situations.

Even the 25 bed hospital near me doesn't do any major surgery, they have a new surgical unit, but it's all polyp removals and that sort of stuff at this point, and it's one bed, and the surgery is scheduled surgery! I am willing to bet they have an anesthesiologist that comes from the city one day a week.

I called our little Yeahbut this morning and she was on her way to the hospital for a blood patch.

Basically the doc at the ER told her yesterday she had a migraine.... pumped her full of fluids told her that there was NO one who could do the blood patch and sent her home.

She called the Radiologist this morning and set up the blood patch.

I talked to her for about 20 minutes and she sounded so weak and in pain, I wanted to reach through the phone and give her a big hug and then drop a 'you-know-what' on that doc at the ER from yesterday.

Anyway...hopefully our little Lambchop is home recovering from her ordeal and will be back to her ol self in a couple of days.

Big hugs to her and big whack on the head to that doc. (anyone watch NCIS???)

Thanks for updating Cheryl. Small hospitals are great for routine, scheduled procedures. Emergencies, not so much. My hospital ER, from what I hear, becomes nervous when a patient enters! My own doctor said he quit because he got tired of watching people die, yet he transferred to a small hospital. Sometimes I wonder...

Anyway, Char I hope your feeling better and please take it easy. Saying a prayer for your headache to go away.

I hope the blood patch fixes her up. I had pretty much instant relief from it, but my back was really sore. I would take the sore back anyday over that headache.

I just talked to our leetle Yabbit.

She had the patch and everything went well. They doped her up with a max dose of diazepam, so she says she is flying high right now, but NO MORE PAIN!

She has more details and will post when she comes down off the valium, but it sounds as if the ED at the hospital is going to get some flack over the treatment she received yesterday! I'll let her fill everyone in when she feels up to it!

Yabbit!!

{ btw? it WAS the MAJOR hospital that did this to her!!! }

Hi Everyone! DBF just made me some chicken soup and I finally got something into me. I just wanted to say hello and check in.

Thank you for all the well wishes. I have a lot of PM's that I will return tomorrow. Feeling so much better - sore back but heck that is nothing compared to the screaming head ache!

I am going back to bed - resting!!
