Default Limbo check in 5/14

Hi gang!

I haven't been around for a few days - pooped in yesterday for a few minutes but I was gone for the weekend. I went to Columbus with my sis and a few other women for a ladie's run away. Never went anywhere without my family before and boy was that a blast.

I've been feeling pretty good, thanks in large part to these flector patches. A year ago before I had them, I don't think I could have gone.

The Marriot where we stayed had a pool, a suana and a hot tub. The other girls hopped in the hot tub. I declined. (Go figure, I started my period almost as soon as we got to the hotel, first time since January - I think it got thrown off with all those steroid shots.)

I did put my feet in the hot water just for a couple minutes though and that was too much. I had a bad case of vertigo and got all off-balance. My poor sis got really alarmed when she saw me trying to manuver out of the pool area. I was a little worried myself, because that was slippery. I didn't want to fall down.

The other girls noticed that I was walking worse and we hadn't been drinking, than I was the night before when we had been drinking, lol. The elevator ride about did me in. But I was okay by the time we got back to the room.

I'm only mentioning this because A) I was just at the point of thinking I don't have ms at all, it's just all the other stuff, but this kind of makes me think maybe I do B) it wouldn't have bothered me so much but it scared my sister and it was embarrassing that it happened in front of the others and C) I never had that come on so fast or so directly as a result of something.

You live you learn, huh?

All the money I save on a hot tub, I can spend buying stuff to make Mojitos.

Cheers!

WOW Brain, sorry about your experience. Are those symptoms all gone now? So.. heat did it. I would worry too that it may be MS. Any other disorders cause a reaction to hot tub??

I also had a bad experience in a hot tub few years ago. Thank goodness my hubby was there. I could not move!! I got sooo weak, disoriented, my heart rate shot up, and I could hardly walk. I stayed away from hot tubs. But recently tried one and was ok. Go figure. !!

What are you going to do about it?

So glad YOU got away!! Were you able to have fun anyway?? What's your favorite drink!!

My "special meeting" with my clinical supervisor, our manager, and the director of HR went horribly. My supervisor woud NOT budge and remove the check mark that was less than competent with direct patient care. I stood my grounds, gave my view and evidence and the ONLY thing they would change is audio taping.
YESSS they wanted to audio tape me doing my groups !!! A set up for sure!!!

So, tomorrow I have interview at another hosp and the hosp I work for will have some outpatient openings and one may be right around the corner from where I live!!! A gas saver for sure. BUT.. these therapists are under a tough productivity rule, which is probably why people are bailing.

My spasticity is sooo bad!! AND I could not get my foot onto an esculator that I held up the line. My ankles lock up and my legs and back muscles are sooo tight that they spasm. I cannot sleep well.

NOW I think I"ll keep my appt with the MS neuro end of this month. BUT I am still going to eliminate as many MD"s this year that I can.

Take care all ... hugs

Jan

Jan - good luck w/interview. They'll get what's coming to them for doing this to you, and you'll wind up in a better position too. I just know it. I just hate all this is going on with you. It's been a tough year and i wish I could do more than just offer a hug.

The whole vertigo after the hot tub thing surprised me a little but didn't scare or worry me at all. I'll mention it to the doc when I see him. And it cleared right up, I went on to have a good time. We were drinking all sorts of stuff - daquiries, Guinness, wine, you name it. Our room looked like a rock band was staying there.

GJ - I'd let ya try one of my patches if ya lived closer. I know you don't cry easy, dang I hate the suffering you're doing.

Hi everyone,

Brain, I had something similiar happen this morning. I took a hot shower (which I know is a no-no, but it felt sooooo good!) When I got out, my right arm was weak, shaking, and feeling weird from the center of my back down to my fingers. I'm still having some residual effects of it even now.

Since my most recent brain, cervical, and lumbar MRIs all came back normal, I've been trying to convince myself that all of these symptoms are all in my head. I mean, how on earth, after two years, can the MRIs still be normal?

But sometimes I have trouble convincing myself that this is all just my imagination.

Brain, thanks for the support. Glad you got to GET AWAY~! How's your hubby treating you these days?

Lisa... HUGS~!!! Of course something is wrong...just no name for it. Have you ever read the post on here about lesions? Its quite long. An MD with MS has answsered many inquiries and wrote papers on that lesions ARE symptoms..just not spots on the brain. AND..they dont have to appear on an MRI to be real!!!

McGimpy...please stay with us ok? You are welcomed. What do you mean no help from the Gov??

Better daze folks~~!!!
Warmly, Jan

No help from the Gov. means no SSD or SSI,
No more test and no DX at least for awhile
it could be worse

Didn't get a chance to check in yesterday...had oral surgery, and had a nice darvocet nap all day afterwards.
We finished our pond out in the backyard, and it looks sooo nice!! My DH did a wonderful job.
Our #3 son is getting married in 2 1/2 wks., and we're trying to get the yard finished. We need to finish raking up lava rocks and put down mulch. Yuck! My body does not like yard work at all!
I also have to clean windows, dust walls, polish wood, etc. But my dd's graduating from college this weekend, and we have to drive up to the north woods and open up my in laws' cabin over the Memorial Day weekend. So we are working extra hard to finish ahead of schedule.
My son moved into his and his bride's apartment ahead of time, and even though I was happy not to have the mess and the noise from his guitars, I was very weepy for a couple of days. But I get over it quickly enough...
Well, not much new in the sxs department. Just some new tingling in my whole right hand and places in my right forearm. And the fatigue...it's really intense. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
Jan, head held high...keep up the good fight!
Brain...glad you're feeling better, but watch those sxs...be aware!
Lisa, take care of yourself!!
Check in next week...
