Sounds like it may be a ms symptom. I had a patch on my neck where the burning/tingling sensation would come and go. The problem went away once I startedon neurontin. I still get this sensation on the top of my head. It is worse when I am hot.
Hope you feel better soon! |

![]() Funny you said you get a patch on your neck.....I had that last night only it was on my chest......figured it was a mosquito bite but there wasn't anything there....just terrible itching and burning. I take 900mg of neurotin, maybe it's time for an increase?

I agree it sounds like an MS sx to me too. I've got a dime size spot on the upper part of my left ear that burns and tingles alot. I dig my fingernail in it alot and hold it to try and change the sensation. It started with a bad flare in 2006 and is haunting me most of the time.
I hope yours doesn't hang around too long. ![]()

Gosh, I thought I was the only person in the world with this!
Seriously. I've Googled on this for ages, but I can't find any references to it. My trouble is that I can't lie on my left side at night because my Crohn's and my bad MS leg is there, and many nights I can't lie on my right side because the burning pain on that ear is so bad! What's a girl to do??? ![]() And yes, you described it perfectly--it's on the outside of the ear, and it burns and hurts. I've had it for a few years on and off, but lately, with my MS nerve problems getting worse, this has gotten worse too and it's nearly every night. When I see my neuro next month, I'm going to talk to him about it. I've finally decided that, because of the nature of the pain--the burning, tingling, aching feeling--it might be an MS thing after all. Anyway, so glad you brought this up....it's one strange symptom, but in my case, there seems to be no other reason for it! I'll let you know what my neuro says, so stay tuned! ![]() |

I have the front part of my ear and cheek that are affected. It is the strangest feeling. I do have patches in my leg, butt and face that get the twitches sometimes. Unfortunately it is all part of an MS thing. Hopefully suzyqz that it is not the sign of a flare for you and just a little bump in the road.
