Yipes, I've had a few near misses at work lately! My desk chair is on wheels/casters and I've almost fallen as I've tried to maneuver my unbalanced self onto a moving chair.
I've been attempting to compensate by backing the thing against the file cabinet, and trying to hold it in place while I sit, meanwhile trying to remember to back myself into position so that I sit without first leaning against it. Sounds complicated? Well, it is. What I'm wondering is, where would one find desk chairs with locking casters? Or an adjustable height desk chair WITHOUT wheels? I'm not even sure what to google. It could be a desk chair, a task chair, a drafting chair. Anybody got any ideas?

Hmm, I suppose I could take the casters OFF and just put some kind of pads or gliders on instead....?????

Be careful Blessings! We don't want our cutie falling!
You didn't say what you do at work, but I'm envisioning you sitting at a computer. Is your chair on carpet? That seems to slow things down. What about putting some heavy-duty tape on the casters? Be careful!!! ![]()

How about "computer chair" or "office chair"? LOL, I have to laugh because I have a few "chair issues" myself..Rather than constantly getting up and down to grab something off the fax/printer behind me, I'll push myself over on the chair..That works great until the wheels get caught on something. The sudden stop can send me flying forward out of the chair if I'm not careful..Maybe I need to look into computer chair seatbelts?

Chairs are nasty creatures that can turn on you on any even moment!
Mine at work is the only one that has arms. I requested it. I needed a chair with arms to help me hoist myself up and and plop down and the arms contain me when I finally find myself there! Good luck on the chair search!

I don't work anymore, but our home office chair has shot out from under me a couple times!! Just call me Grace! I don't even use the PC anymore, I've pretty much commandeered Dennis' laptop!

Is their a plastic/type pad on the floor under the chair? We had one that was really slippery for the chair and it would shoot out. Now we have some that are made by Rubbermaid that we got at the office supply store and they work great. No more slick, slippery surfaces for the chair to shoot out ![]()
