Dear Jappy,
Still thinking about you! I hope it goes fast and you'll be feeling better soon. I saw the gastro doctor today and learned a lot about reflux/GERD. He told me that I'll always have it, that there's no cure, it just needs to be treated. He said I'd have to be on Nexium for good. He said it can be controlled somewhat with modifying my diet but that won't cure it. I told him my Mom had GERD and he said it is hereditary. He also said that several of my medications can make it worse. He said that doing the scope is basically to make sure I don't have Barrett's esophagus. I'm getting the scope and a colonoscopy done in a month both at the same time (since I'm 50.) Do you have to do a lot of prep for the scope? There is for the colonoscopy, I have to drink a gallon of putrid liquid. I hope they can get this under control for you! ![]()
