and here I thought it was just me!!!
I can't handle being out in public with groups of people .. like after the parade this weekend, we were inside the bar - and everyone was talking, the music was bouncing ... and the TV was on! ... when I got in the car to go home - all I heard was eeeeee, eeeeeee, eeeeee just steady .. I have it all the time 24/7 .. but when I'm in a loud-environment, it gets worse. and then my other sx kick in with the burning/tingly feeling, and my face turns beat red ... gosh, to work from home! applying for jobs that I don't have to talk to people on the phone ... WANTED: job with no noise, no stress with good pay ... |
Well..
It's summertime and I have three boys (9,7, and 4) and they fight, scream, and torture one another...which in turn, tortures me. I am not only sensitive to noises but also lights. I have to turn my laptop brightness down when I first sign on because it's too bright and hurts my eyes. I am just falling apart :( Monique |
CHILDREN SCREAMING just drives me nuts ! :hissyfit: It started bothering me about three or four years ago - post MS dx.
Let's don't forget the NOSE as well, lol. My sense of smell has recently increased to the point that some subtle smells have intensified to the point that I have to excuse myself from the area or I'll :vomit2:. Does this mean we can refer to ourselves as having BIONIC senses now? |
I have a hard time if LOUD music is playing and people are trying to talk over it. It makes me dizzy.
We live by a major hwy and the sound of the loud cycles going by one after the other really makes me cringe. Sometimes there's 20-30 in a group. I don't have anything against the bikers, just the constant roar makes me go inside the house. I'm getting old! :( Oh, and loud snoring pushes me over the edge. Thank goodness DH stops when I roll him over on his side. http://dl6.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...z99lj5uafv.gif |
One of my ringtones does that to me, but I don't think it's an audio issue, per se.

Yes to all of you with babies and dogs If a baby's crying or a barking dog is part of a tv show, I have to turn the sound off, untill they stop.
Am I the only one who goes nuts with all the background music they play during a TV or any movie? The music is sometimes louder than the speaking and I have to strain to hear what they're saying. It just drives me nuts....I know, it's short putt..:D Haha...Bionic...I like that.. |

And, I saw the movie Ironman on sunday. There was about 2 dozen teenagers sitting either in the row my boyfriend and I were in, and the the entire row in front of us. The brats were CONSTANTLY texting each other, waving their cellphones around like flashlights. Talking. Bouncing around on the seats, and basically just being buttheads (wish I could use stronger language) If it wasnt for the fact that I'd have to crawl over the little jerks to go out and complain about them, I would have gone and complained about them. It's really annoying to pay $8.50 to see a movie and have it ruined by children who cant keep their stupid cellphones in their pockets and turned off. |
interesting Kitty I was gonna be silly and say yeah license and registration are sounds i dont like to hear, but you are correct last few months loud and shrill annoy me in a bad way, so i take it, this is an MS thingy, and not me becoming a grumpy old man

I'm nearly deaf, have hearing aids in both ears..It doesn't save me from certain sounds, though..Like the kid they keep in the cage in the back room at Wal-mart and torture everytime they see me coming thru the door..Or radios that are turned up too loud (now, I like my loud music, but car radios especially don't sound right anymore)..
My daughter's a loud speaker, which is good most of the time..But there are times when her voice just goes right thru me. Same with my dog..He's not a yappy dog, but he has a very powerfull bark when he feels the need.. I could turn the hearing aids off (worked for my dad), but I'm too nosey I guess..Gotta know what's going on around me :o. |
