I hear you on this one (sorry, couldn't help it)
My hearing issues are something ELSE hard to explain to other people, as if I needed something else. It isn't necessarily loud noises, it's just CERTAIN noises. Sometimes the dial tone on the phone sets off a ruckus in my brain, for example. The other day I leaned over the edge of the tub and went to scrubbing on the rubber mat with a scrub brush. It was like a little tornado went in each ear and was throwing debris around inside my head. YOW! Dogs barking, stuff like that, is annoying, but it doesn't do that weird thing inside my head. Just makes me want to go smack the dog owner. ![]()

Sounds have been a pain in my rump for some years now. In college I noticed that concerts didn't go too well for me at all. My ears .. or should I say my nerves just can't take noise. Stores with music are a no no for me because I can't hear and think at the same time alot.. sort of like even when someone tells me something, i have to sit in silence for a second to understand what they just said. I don't even listen to the radio while i'm on the computer. I found that taking ear plugs with me to the mall helps alot. Mine may be caused by another disorder I have known as "aspergers syndrome", but I've noticed it worsened as my MS crept into my life as well.

Reason why I dont have to worry about it anymore is because the dog died in March 2006. At least I trained him to stop on command. He'd stop for an hour or two and then start up again. While I was trying to sleep. I think the dog keeping me awake for so many years (slept in my room) is why I dont really sleep more than 2 or three hours at a time without waking up all the time.

I haven't been to a movie in a theater in years.....probably at least 10!!! It's always so loud and I cannot sit that long in one position. Then, too, there are the fifty bathroom visits so.....it's just not a fun experience anymore for me!!
![]() As for the cell phone toting teenagers.....I'd have marched right up to the manager or usher and told them that I paid full price for my ticket and I expect them to control the patrons who cannot seem to control themselves. That or ask the unruly ones to leave. If they didn't - I'd have told them I wanted my money back. I have little patience for people who think they are entitled to control the environment of a public area. ![]()

There have been a few incidents at movie theatres here in Omaha where people have been shot for tattling on the bratty kids. I didnt have any kevlar or a battle helmet to protect myself with that night.

and here I thought it was just me!!!
I can't handle being out in public with groups of people .. like after the parade this weekend, we were inside the bar - and everyone was talking, the music was bouncing ... and the TV was on! ... when I got in the car to go home - all I heard was eeeeee, eeeeeee, eeeeee just steady .. I have it all the time 24/7 .. but when I'm in a loud-environment, it gets worse. and then my other sx kick in with the burning/tingly feeling, and my face turns beat red ... gosh, to work from home! applying for jobs that I don't have to talk to people on the phone ... WANTED: job with no noise, no stress with good pay ...
