Default You Already Know, But:

An OLD Debate Has New Data...and CLAWS:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080604/...talfillings_dc

"Charles Brown, a lawyer for one of the groups called Consumers for Dental Choice, said the agency's move represented an about-face. "Gone, gone, gone are all of FDA's claims that no science exists that amalgam is unsafe," he said in a statement."

I wonder when the FDA will finally admit that shooting yourself could prove harmful to your health...

Who would have guessed that amalgam fillings were 50% mercury, and not the 20% reported earlier by the FDA (1989).

The FDA is comprised of scumbags, baught and sold like cheap _____.

My dentist replaces them with composite as they age. I have a mouthful of amalgam.

WOW. 50% mercury? Yikes. I had a slew of amalgam fillings when I was a kid. Wonder if that caused the holes in my brain. I just had the last one taking out 3 weeks ago. Bye bye..... I hate it when the FDA feeds you B.S.

I've known they were 50% mercury for a long time. And, I've been suspecting the amalgams for causing SOME of my problems for awhile.

I had 3 of my 12 (or is it 15??) amalgam fillings removed in March. The amalgam fillings are cracking my teeth, and NEED to be replaced, so I'm slowly getting them removed. The ones I had removed in March were the first batch.

I got really sick after having those amalgams removed, and my right foot went totally numb for several months after that (feeling is just now coming back)

I think I got sick because there was a lot of infection in those 3 teeth and the dentist thinks that I must have touched my tongue to the teeth and some of the ick got into my system. I had a pretty big fever for about a week.

I'm still getting the rest of the amalgams removed, because I have to. I'm just making sure I have about 6 months between each removal so that I have time to recover from the stress and mental trauma of having to go to the dentist.

My dentist told me that my amalgams were high mercury (apparently if they really discolor your teeth, there's a lot of mercury in the amalgam) The 3 teeth that got done are now white and pretty and no longer feel like they're about to crumble into dust.

When I get the others done, I'm making sure I've got an antibiotic going, just in case I get another case of the icky infections escaping from one of my teeth.

I posted something on getting these amalgams taken out safely in another thread. Erin had a comment there too.

I have a ton of amalgam fillings. No problems here. I have been getting them replaced for aesthetic purposes though as I go along.

Who was that famous woman singer who claimed back in the 80's that her silver fillings were what caused her ms?
