Oh Jappy hon...I have done that...fine...more then once! Anytime I have something different that I am driving I am sure to find one in some parking lot that looks like mine and try to drive off with it instead! I stand there and wonder why the dang thing is not unlocking and then, Oh crud! You look around to see if anyone has seen you! If they do...just yell..."Sorry, looks just like mine."

It was an honest mistake. Don't sweat it!

(I could tell by those beady eyes of Jappy's that she was a car thief. I just knew it. And Sage a police dog helping her....):D

Jappy
It's all good. I've done it once, I've done it with nearly every car I've driven. Not to worry, it happens to everyone MS or no MS.

Oh Jappy! Big hugs to you! You are not alone!

And here I thought Twippy was going to tell the Av8rgirl got her truck stolen story! LOL! I came back from a week's trip and went to the airport parking garage and no truck. The parking garage at our airport is only 3 stories so it's not too hard to lose a vehicle in it. I always park in the same spot (or very close to it) so I just knew that someone had taken my truck.

I walked all 3 floors of the garage. I thought ok, I misremembered where I parked it.

So after about 30 minutes of looking, I went back into the airport and got the cop. He drove around and no truck. He called the parking attendant and they had no record of towing my vehicle so we go over to the office to fill out a report. I am sitting in the office and I look out the window and there's my truck. Parked right in front of the office. I asked the cop how'd my truck get there? He asked the parking guy the same question. He looks at me and says that's your truck? Duh, yeah. They had towed it there the day I parked it in the garage cuz it was parked illegally. So they said. I parked it on the end like I always do but the new attendant felt it was on the line and could pose a problem for vehicles turning the corner.

They had a record of it being towed. I was not a happy camper. It cost me $90 for the towing plus the parking for the week. And they damaged my truck when then towed it...that was on me. Because they knew the vehicle (airline employee) they didn't tow it to the impound lot. That would have meant I would have not been able to get my truck out until the next day and it would have cost me $150 to get the it out of impound plus the towing.

Haven't misremembered where I parked since then...

Oh my gosh FG...I had forgotten all about that! Not!

(It's kinda hard to break into a car when you can't find one in the first place!)

Oh....maybe it was Jappy....in the car lot...in Boise....with Sage!

I do feel a lot better just reading all the stories. I guess this
does happen more then I thought.

It was the first time for me so I guess that is why I got so rattled.

FG your story beats all.

When I do go food shopping I look at the number of the section where
I was parking. That did fail a couple of times couldn't remember the
number where I parked.

Thanks all for sharing your stories.

Yep, done it too. Don't be worried, I think it's some right of passage or something. haha

Been there, done that, Jappy! (At least twice.)

What I did is just a quick then sidle over to my own car.

Try not to worry about it sweetie! You're in good company!

well, hubby didn't get into a different car...

but after we bought our old suburban, when he came out of walmart, he got into the back seat instead of the front.

that'll teach a guy to go from a corvette to suburban. big difference in length.

I always thought it was common to mistake a similar car, not remember where a car was parked!

My husband did that the other day, I see "my" car on the road a lot. He could not understand why the car would not open.

Am I the only one that has walked away with the wrong cart in the grocery store? The one that I did not bother to check that the items in it were not the ones I selected? Am I alone??
