Sinemet was working, it has a side effect that I just got tired of dealing with - stomach upset. Docs were getting concerned with all the weight I was losing and thought maybe switching me to Soma would would alleviate that. Plus it would help with my insomnia. No more ambien.

Well, it was a failed experiment. Soma just wasn't stopping the spasms. In fact, they have increased and I am not getting any sleep, and I am not willing to up the dose of Soma.

So, I am willing to put up with the stomach upset - back to popping Maalox with it, it's not really that bad. I'd rather have less spasms so I can sleep and occasional upset stomach than spasms and no sleep.

Hmmm . . . a spasticity pill with a bonus. Sounds like something I could use.

It's a parkinsons drug. Combo of two drugs - carbidopa and levidopa. I am taking 2 25/100 tabs. It comes in CR and a couple of other strengths too. It works. Most meds upset my stomach.

I have just learned not to take it the same times as Provigil so I only take it at night now.

Well, I hope that helps you. But it stinks you have to put up with upset stomach. Have you tried (or can you ask about) zanaflex? I only use it at night because it knocks me out. But no upset stomach from that and it works pretty well.

I take robaxim (methocarbamol) during the day, but I'd doubt if that's strong enough for what you need. Not as strong as flexeril (maybe like 5 mgs but I took flex 10's), but it doesn't make me sleepy.

Can't take Zanaflex, baclofen nor flexeril. Robaxim puts me out like a light. Anything that causes drowsiness puts me out.

I can live with the stomach issues...it isn't that bad. I would rather have that than the spasticity!
