I am surrounded by the Celiac groupies.

I DID a celiac diet years ago when i had cancer, and HATED IT . i didnt feel better, AND I was hungry, and HATED the cardboard foods. This was before gluten free isles in the stores. I MADE everything, and it was hard work.

I have a daughter who is gluten intolerant and takes the diet to the enth degree. She is soooo worried because i refuse to go back to gluten free. I have friend, neighbors and church ladies telling me I just need to not eat so much crap in my diet.

I am on an ORGANIC, pesticide, hormone free diet. Most of what i eat comes from either my garden or the farm next door. Grass fed chickens, cows, and milk. I NEVER eat processed foods or high fructose corn syrup. MSG is out, and i MAKE all the food we eat. How I can I do better than that?

Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to take my salve covered, bee stung body over to the liquior cabinet for some mango steen juice and monavie. SHESSH!

There's a T-shirt out there that I'm saving up to get. It's perfect for these situations. It says...

"My disabling chronic condition is more real than your imaginary medical expertise"

There's quite a few people I want to wear this around.

I might have to get my mom that t-shirt. We've gotten some looks before. (she looks fine walking if she's got a walker or a shopping cart to hold her up)

That reminds me of a job application story . . .

I was in New Zealand, and wanted to stay for about another year. I applied at this Car Rental place (like Budget) for a managerial position, through an agency. I was more then qualified for the job . . .

The agency called and said I didn't get it. When I asked if she knew why, she said "the GM thought I didn't wear enough lipstick".

Fast-forward a few months, after landing a very pretigious and high-paying position somewhere else, low and behold this "GM" comes knocking at my door for our business. His face dropped when he saw who I was.

After his spiel, I promptly reminded him that "I don't wear enough lipstick to be a good business associate".

What comes around, goes around.

OK everybody out there, it doesn't matter WHAT you have, I know JUST how you feel, because I feel EXACTLY the same way! I KNOW you've been diagnosed with MS and I haven't, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that

...the overheating problem is just menopause
...the pain is probably arthritis, we ALL have it at our age
...the fatigue is because you stayed up late, like me
...the bad balance is low sugar
...the cognitive stuff happens to EVERYBODY
...the muscle spasms are because you don't drink enough water
...the numbness and tingling is because you slept funny
...the pain around your torso is because your bra is too tight
...your eyes are blurry because none of us are getting any younger
...and I know what you mean about Walmart syndrome, it's that stupid music they play in the store
...and the white spots on your MRI is because the doctors are in cahoots with the big drug companies, and they just TELL you that stuff so they can get your money.
