I've actually suggested doing that before, but I am really not ready for more school than that which I have been through. (At least not right now.)
No more school? you sure?

Thanks. I hope the new guy is too. But they have FIRE ANTS in Texas, even if a couple of friends live there (one in McAllen, and two in Houston)! I stood on a fire ant mound in the dark accidentally once. Nope. Not fun. OUCH!!
Oh yeah, they do have fire ants in Texas! Nasty nasty nasty!

but for you adverterous people out there, there is a line of astronaut food and you can get freeze dried fire ants!! See, you can get almost anything on the internet and I was just looking for a picture of fire ants for a response to Gazelle's post!!! LMOA!!!

No, not really. An art degree would be nice too.

Hmmm.... are those people who shamelessly promote themselves?

And freeze dried fire ants? Now THERE's a snack that might be Atkins friendly, but it's certainly NOT on my list of snacks to actively seek out. I've already had the anchovies and candied almonds snack adventure with a board buddy.....

Yeah, I hesitated when I wrote that, but f/u is "Follow-up." Sorry if I disappointed yer imagination.

You've just gotta stop thinking about AMN and tools.

Oh no, just wait. I'm not done with neuro roulette. This next guy might see 2 lesions. After all, the neuro I saw first at this facility said he saw two but thought that both were artifactual probably. Um, right, two corpus callosum lesions artifactual on the same scan. But the rest of the brain at that time looked just fine--it was only the lesion part that was artifact, right?
<sigh>

Well, my antlered friend, I am happy you found a good neuro and disappointed he is leaving. I hope his partner is a good fit for you.

When I first started reading your account I was thinking of making a drive down to see your neuro (you know my story) to get another opinion up until I read the part about him leaving.

Gazelle --

Hope you are happy w/ your f/u neuro. I've also been through the "It might not be MS after all" thing", after many years of an MS dx.

Best wishes!

Default finding out so many

hey, i'm finding that there are so many in my situation. I had no idea, its not good but at least i realise it isn't just happening to me and i'm not going crazy and it really isn't just in my head (well, only the lesions anyway).

I just dont get how seeing so many different neuros and still so many different dx, surely they all trained in same thing so how come not agreeing at least on some part of it? and how can it be ms one time then not the next? the symptoms sure as hell aren't gone and lesions still there!

Have to keep going and get on with life along the way.

Keep me posted, good luck to you.
Much love xx

We can form a poster child society for disease limbolanders! It IS nice to know you're not alone.

I'm sure, but it's like trying to get someone to agree on specifically what color blue something is. Ask 10 people and you're likely to get 10 different answers.

But you're right, the sx aren't gone and I know at least 1 lesion is still there cuz at least 2 neuros saw it. Never mind the radiologists who've NEVER seen anything wrong. They're not neurologists.

What gets me is the guy that dx'd me in 2005 was an MS specialist who was recruited away by the Cleveland Clinic. He couldn't be THAT bad a neurologist then!

When he asked me what I expected out of my visit to him when I saw him in 2005 after Dr. Flip Flop kept changing his mind about everything, I told him, "Continuity. I just want someone to say something and stick with it. I'm not looking for a dx, I just need continuity." He told me that was fair.
Then BAM! He leaves the practice for the Cleveland Clinic. <sigh>

lol, my mind insisted on reading it as foul-up as well, like, a close encounter of the FUBAR-kind.

oh, my stotting one, I feel for you... I spent a few years in limbo-land, before I even knew such a thing existed, and it was not even remotely an enjoyable experience.

woe betide any who dare disbelieve again...

hope the "bronchitis" stays stable, honey!
