Default Foot spasm?

My left foot is so tight that it's painful to walk. The pain is on the bottom ball of the foot. I used quite a bit of muscle rub last night which didn't burn whatsoever and helped a bit. I was wondering if this could be an MS symptom or something else. I haven't exercised or injured it but I did see a new neurologist who did not look into this while I was there so that's where my confusion comes in.
