Default New to MS

I had a recent MRI to rule out any lesion or growth in my inner ear. Unfortunately, there was an incidental finding that I may have a mild MS because of the appearance of Dawson's finger on my brain as shown in the MRI...Right now I am not so worried, I will see a neurologist on Wednesday.

Hi and welcome!
Please keep us updated and definitely feel free to ask any questions. Check out the Stumble Inn where we hang out and discuss other stuff also. We are a pretty good bunch here, imo.

Confused Neuro Appoinment

So I had my appt with the neurologist this morning. We looked at the MRI pictures via Stentor and explained to me what's going on. There he pointed to me the Dawson's finger! I told him that DF did not just appear on the day of my MRI ..the neurologist said it might have been there long time ago, just do not have any signs/symptoms. I was given all the preliminary tests for balance, vision, grip, reflexes, and I did good! Lucky me!

The reason I had MRI is just to rule any lesion or growth in my inner ear (had this tinnitis or ringging in my left ear for the last five months). I can deal with this.

Anyway, the doctor ordered blood test (which I will have tomorrow as he want me to fast), depending on the results of the blood test, he will order a lumbar puncture, and another MRI in three months for comparison (as I never had any MRI before). I am kind of in a wait-and-see status for now. But he said if I feel any numbness or tingling on any parts of my body, I should see him right away.

Is this incidental finding a blessing in disguise, maybe so....

TJ, sounds like you got a good neuro. He looked over the films with you and he's ordering all the tests needed to find answers for ya.

Thanks for the update.

Blood test normal...I am not sure if I will still have the lumbar puncture, one thing is sure I have to go another MRI in November for comparison with the first one. Hopefully, those Dawson's finger disappears!

Thank you all for your concerns.
