I tend to be a heavy sleeper - like real heavy. Suddenly - the last month or so - I keep waking all night. Not pain, no potty breaks, no anxiety or stress.
Just every half hour or so I wake up. I fall right back to sleep but it still is not good having all the disruptions in the sleep patterns. I thought maybe there was noise, so I tried leaving the tv on (always have fans on for white noise). Didn't help. Tried tylenol pm, no help. Even the zanaflex isn't keeping me asleep. Then I started sleeping less. I was at about 8 hrs and I'm down to 5. I'm hoping I don't start with another round of insomnia. Anybody else have trouble staying asleep?

HI Brain~!
Tho I am not a heavy sleeper I have noticed over the last several months doing the same thing. REminds me of what you go through in preparation for childbirth and being UP with that little one. I took it as spiritually getting ready for my new job where I do have to get up early..ugh. But menapause does this as well. Or.. who knows... Hope you get your much needed rest and soon!! Jan |

for me, if it's really humid out - I get muscle spasms that will wake me up. Took me a long time to figure it out until I had one that kept twitching when I woke.
![]() Hope your not in for another bout of insomnia. ![]()

I've always been a light sleeper...well, ever since my first child was born 25 years ago! Ever since then I've slept with one eye open. I've always been an early bird, though.
I started having the sleep interruptions every two hours. I'd sleep for two hours, wake up and it would take me 30 minutes to an hour to go back to sleep. I think as we get older our bodies are adjusting to the change and sleep is one of the things affected. Just my take on it - nothing scientific to prove it. I've tried not to get too wrapped up in it because I know I can take a nap if needed (tho I'd rather sleep at night and not during the day). Seems the more I stress about it the worse I sleep. I've tried Advil PM and Somenex and they both made me sleepy but neither kept me asleep. I had a prescription for Ambien but my Neuro told me not to take it every night as it messes up the sleep hormones. ![]() ![]() ![]() Good luck - and let us know if you find something that works for you!

Brain, sorry you are dealing with this.... hope it isn't insomnia either. I get up every hour or so but have been doing it for quite some time due to spasms. Good Luck!
