I prefer to do them myself, however, I also didn't have a choice since I live alone and I'm on Copaxone. I don't see a neighbor doing my shots for me daily

My theory is, it hurts less if you're in control of the shot, versus another person doing the shot for you. Plus, you know your body better than anyone else

Cinder, I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is what I do.

My hubby helps me out on days where I have issues doing the shot myself, especially in the arms.

But I much prefer doing it myself when I can. I'm already nervous about needles, so I relax better if I'm the one who does it. I don't have really good fine muscle control, so have to rely on an autoinject to help me with them.

But if you have someone who can help you out when you need it, that is cool.

of course, you can ask anything you want. if you're thinking of it someone else probably is, or has. we're all here to support/teach.

i'm single so i had to do my own shots. i'm on copaxone and use the autoject.
i don't see anything wrong with having someone help with your shots.
however, it may give you a feeling of strength and independence to be able to do them yourself.

let us know what you decide.
i'm sure others will be chiming in soon.

As one that gives her own shots I think it is better to be responsible for your own.

But, I understand those that have troubles giving themselves a shot so I don't judge.

Whatever works for you!

Cinder....(tapping foot and giving her that look!) Yeah..you know the one I am talking about!

You see..Cinder doesn't give herself the weenie sub-q shots like some of us get.
That's right...she does that weekly hummer!

So...it is more important that you get your injection. If that means, you find a sweet nurse, like our NurseNancy (AKA Judy) to give you your shot...THEN DO IT! Sorry...didn't mean to yell at you Brat!

Don't beat yourself up, if you don't wanna do it yourself! If you do, fine! If you don't, fine! If you and the Dr. want you to be on the drug, then take the stuff!

That's all!

CinderBrat? Where did you go?

Did the mean old Taffers scare ya?

Hey Cinder! Nice to see you posting and you should ask and get others opinions. That's how you learn! Taffy has some good advice! You should listen to her! We all listen to her, we may ignore what she says, but we do listen! LOL!

Those huge hummer IM shots are tough. I have trouble with my weekly B12 shot - it's an IM shot like the one you have to do. I have my neighbor do it - he's a doc. He has a beer first and then does my shot! Oops, I think I am supposed to have the beer first! Hmmm...I think someone has this procedure backwards! Oh yeah, I don't drink beer! Anyway, it's given in my arm and I can't reach so he does it.

It might not be a bad idea to have a back up person learn to give you your shots, but you know what? If you just can't do it, then by all means find someone who will, cuz like Taffers said - YOU GOTTA GET IT DONE!
