Default A video I have questions about

Ok, I saw this a while ago. Video Link

You may be familiar with it. What I'm wondering about is, how much validity we can place on what the younger lady is saying in the car ride while she's medicating. Specifically,

"When cannabis is mixed with polyunsaturated fats, your body breaks that down as myelin.... so if your body can assimilate marijuana as myelin mixed with polyunsaturated fats.. but there's no other substance known to mankind that your body can assimilate as myelin, why don't they legalize it? It's the one thing that can rebuild what the MS has taken away".

I wonder where she is getting this information from, and how much validity there is to these types of statements. I do know that many have stated that marijuana has had such a positive effect on their disease and the symptoms of their disease.

I found it interesting in any event as a watch, and I am all for those in chronic pain having access to what does work for them as far as relieving their pain or spascisity that comes with MS.

Exactly. Too bad it was not her who posted the video, or I would have messaged her through Youtube directly and asked her where she is finding this information.

It is nice to see she is in such good spirits and has been in remission for so long though.

I don't know about anything about "your body can assimilate marijuana as myelin mixed with polyunsaturated fats" part, but I do know that marijuana is very recognized for it's potential neuroprotective ability.

From the National Clinical Advisory Board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society:

"An unexpected result of basic research, as well as some evidence from clinical trials, led to the discovery that cannabinoids may also reduce neuronal damage through acute or chronic mechanisms and promote synaptic plasticity, thereby possibly limiting disease progression, perhaps as an add-on
to other treatments.

In some ways this is even more exciting than its effects on symptoms such as pain and spasticity. Of particular interest, low chronic stimulation may be sufficient for neuroprotection, in contrast to symptomatic effects that typically require doses that are often associated with psychotropic effects. Similar results have been seen in a motor neuron disease model (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), with less axonal loss in cannabis-treated animals."

thanks Cherie, almost sounds like LDN in a way and imagine it is a bit similar, in how it operates
