I SWEAR if anything happens to my job I am signing up for classes with the state university system.

We checked the insurance out pretty thoroughly when the teen went. She is still covered under Dad for now, but they have a good selection of options and it wasn't that much per year.

If I remember correctly, they cover you as long as you are taking three or more credits per semester...isn't that one class most of the time? I have the latest offering letter somewhere in a pile of mail, I'll look for it and let you know what I find. It may be worth taking your classes through the U system for the insurance.

Woman! *smack* If you're willing to pay hundreds per credit hour just to make you eligible to buy insurance, you definitely need to enroll now!

My last classes at the U were $600+ per credit hour, that's an average of $1800 per semester per class. I think you could get some dandy insurance for that and they won't give you homework. ;)

*Smackback*

There are programs here for old ladies like US! Scholarships, grants, programs through unemployment, state programs, etc. The less you make, the more you are eligible for!

If someone is enrolled ANYWAY, and can afford insurance through the school's MUCH cheaper insurance program, doesn't it make sense to continue classes and get insurance through that school? I think we figured the plan we would insure the kid under came to a LOT less than we would have paid to add her to my insurance for almost the same coverage.

All I am saying is it's an option and should be investigated before tossing it in the trash, yanno?
