The secret is to ask McDonald's for fries with no salt. Then they have to make new fries just for you. Then as they are handing you your order, ask for salt. lol

Paid for and endorsed by my mother and sister, prior managers at McDonald's.

I do that sometimes too, but just didnt think this guy was going to make me fresh french fries without doing something horrible to them before he'd hand them over to me.

I worked for McDonald's for 8yrs in the 90's. I've seen what can be done to people's food by employees. (and I turned in every person I saw do something horrible to the food, and stopped the food from getting to the customers... "Opps! I dropped that whole tray...silly me, I'll go remake it all!")

I hate people who feel they have to sabatoge people's food!

Other reason I didnt say anything was because I was trying to figure out if the manager working yesterday was the same girl who was a manager at the store I worked at. (gosh, that was a long time ago. I quit in december of 1996, she'd moved to a different store in 93!) I'm pretty sure that she was someone I worked with, but for the life of me, I cant remember her name!
I was distracted by trying to get my brain to cough up the memory of her name.

I'm pretty sure she recognized me, but probably was having the same problem remembering my name or something.

I believe Dan Rather got into trouble reporting a story without double checking the facts

I am of the belief that if someone cures MS with food or bee pollen or crystals (what-ever) then they never really had MS to begin with.

I guess in protest we could go to the magazine website and let them know this story is irresponsible!

Dan Rather told a story that was true, the facts were verified elsewhere, in legal testimony, affidavits, and reports, but what got all the attention is that some paper documentation was forged.

just because one aspect of a story is faked, doesn't mean the entire *thing* is false.

Rather knew the story itself was true, his mistake was to not double-check the documents.

now on these bogus MS "cures" I concur, I despise people who take advantage of our desire to be rid of our nemesis, and promote things that merely shorten relapses, or lessen their frequency, just to make money selling books and magazines.

I wish they would just SAY this or that will help you feel better, without the sensationalist claim to a CURE.

Ohmygosh, I havent seen a picture of Jim Jones for awhile. I still remember the stories about him BEFORE the massacre...and I was only in the fourth grade at the time. (I've been a news junkie since I was a kid)

I remember watching the news and seeing the video from the airplane that flew over Jonestown, showing all the bodies that were laying on the ground outside their big building. Also remember seeing the video of his attack on that Congressman (cant remember the guy's name) when he was about to get onto an airplane to come back to the U.S. to report on his findings of his tour of Jonestown. Scary that I can remember all that...I think it was 30yrs ago.

Dont drink the Kool-Aid!!

I received a copy in the mail a couple of days ago from my Dad and stepmom, who lives in Canada.

I wondered, what do I do -- educate him, thank him, both?

I tried a little of both -- told him that I planned to add more fish, told him that I already watch saturated fats, and that I'm not willing to give up red meat.

I also reminded him that it is curing MS is not possible, and that reduced symptoms is considered a remission, not a cure. But, I tried to be nice.

Thanks Ivy for coming by to voice your opinion. I hope you stick around. Did you call the magazine and ask for a revised version of your story? That would help to stop the misconception that your diet can cure or put ms in remission. As stated, not everyone is the same and not all treatments work for each individual.

We are already being hounded by the diet cure for ms. Anytime you eat better it's good for the body. That's a given. It's just not true that following any particular diet will cure or put ms into remission. If that was the case we would all be cured or in remission. :-)

Again, I hope you contacted them and they are willing to include a revised version.
